    Hi.
I was using Traktor duo for the last time, and when i didnt have my soundcard (audio2 dj) with me, i just used my internal soundcard.
    That worked fine.
The latency was ok and there were no background noises.

Now, i downloaded the TP2 demo, and i still use my onboard soundcard because i dont have my audio2 here.
There is a huge latency (20ms) and the songs are almost NOT RECONGNIZABLE because of the background noises.

Now, i am pretty sure that i wont buy TP2, because I cant reach a good sound quality with low latency. I wait until i get my Audio2 back, but i still want to be able to practise a bit wothout it.

PS: Is there really no difference at all between the new and the old audio2 dj except for the design? Because i saw that u need different drivers?

Traktor 2 reports latency differently. It is meaningless to directly compare latency figures between Traktor and Traktor 2.

You appear to be basing the purchasing decision of a Pro piece of software on the performance of WDM drivers with the $5 soundcard soldered to your laptop motherboard.

It's not that suprising you haven't elicited a response. You could try installing asio4all.

I used asio 4 all, its not better.

I am not trying to use my onboard soundcard of my laptop as the foundation of my descision, i am just wondering that tp2 causes far more latency and soundproblems than expected.
I was also trying to find out if these problems will disappear when i get my audio2.
I was also asking if there are differences between the new and the old audio2.

I think this community is far too offensive against threads that are about any problems.

    Just chill out guys.

why? i gave you a clear answer: you are comparing apples and oranges. now go out and do your research. lethal made a fair point, too.

Yea, but everything i know is:

TP1 works fine (lets not talk about the soundcard)
TP2 doesnt work fine (actually its horrible)

Now: Will the audio2 solve the problem?
Ans what are the differences between the 2 different audio2s?

I dont care how latency is expressed or whatever, i just realize that TP2 is useless for me at the moment.

Me too, it seems to be a bit hungrier for resource, but it's arguably offering more functionality, so that's expected.

My iMac (2.33/3Gb/7200rpm disk and an external Firewire drive for music) handles things fine, I only run at 44100 as lets face it, all my mp3's are not higher quality than that so why go any higher, you aren't adding quality.

I have a few glitches with the latency going astray, and I need to go to change the settings then roll it all the way back to the left and then it's cool again.

So I'm happy and I'll get another year or so out of my iMac, which I just got off eBay anyway for about £300, so life is good.

Realistic settings are what's required, anything else is just pointless.

    My laptop is fine.

    Intel i5 with 2,53 ghz
    4gb ram
    windows7 64bit

I hope the audio2 will solve the problems, because i really like the sample decks, but if it doesnt, i will not buy another soundcard just for tp2.

@OP - well I addressed directly one of your points by trying to imagine what you were doing despite the limited information you gave. I'm not interested in your 'ad hominen' theories about my motives to be honest; thanks.

I'm not gonna address your second point about the TA2 as I've no experience with it; sorry about that. My audio2 works fine with TP1 and TP2.

If 'you know' that TP1 works fine and TP2 doesn't, then you don't need an answer from me or anybody else. Laters!

Yea, thats some usefull information that ur audio2 works fine with both.

I was just trying to find out if there is some "magic setting" or if i just have to hope that it works with my audio2

While you maybe correct in that TS2 reports latency differently (where is this notion coming from anyway), it is definitely not meaningless to compare. In the end, there is 1 final latency measurement. For example, final latency for TS1 =4.5 MS (everything good) TS2 final latency measurements at 3 ms, 6.5ms, 7.3ms, 10.5,MS, 20.5ms, everything bad (pops, clicks, minor drop outs glitches, etc). This basic comparison lets us know something is going wrong with communication from TS2 and audio interfaces (internal and external apparently). Hopefully, a fix is on the way.

It IS meaningless to compare because between Traktor versions there are two quite different measurement mechanisms in terms of what it measures and where its measured.

What you are trying to do is analogous to comparing two different international journeys where the first was based on the cummulative experience of the domestic and international portion of the flight and the latter was based your experience from the time you stepped out of your front door to the time you arrived at the door of your destination.

There are multiple different factors being taken into account so the statement that your latency has gone up as compared to TSP1 is null and void. You simply are not measuring latency using the same scope so the differences do not compare. I've said it since day one with the new drivers; TSP1 to 2 comparisons have no value. All that you can reliably discern from the numbers is that they are different. End of story! One thing of value you can do is compare your TSP2 latency on a given system to that of someone elses system running the same version of Traktor.

    ok, lets not compare them.
The sound quality i get is still that bad that i can not recognize the song im playing.

What sampling rate is your internal soundcard set to. (In the OS not in Traktor).

And just for the record it is VERY difficult to help u when we don't know your specs. We don't even know whether your MAC or PC.

    Ok...
I had a friend at my house who had his audio2 with him.
Now i know, that it works with an audio2!

He also played around with my asio4all settings and made the sound problems ok, so now there is still a big latency, but thats ok for my internal soundcard.
