    Specs: see my signature

I have set up my library in the music app.
I deleted the contents of the / user / music / music folder and restarted music.
Everything is fine in Music. I have 3 playlists and around 44000 tracks:

When I open the Music folder in Traktor, I see the right number of tracks. But also lots of old playlists that I had in my old library.

The setting in traktor is correct:

In the Beta 3.4.0.121 is a little bit different:

Hi MiFa1969, Yes we have seen this before by kokernutz , it seems to be a Music App issue. I am running 10.15.5(beta) and I don't have the issue kokernutz has with his Music Library. So hopefully this issue resolves itself as soon as 10.15.5 is out ;) Keep us posted.

    Hi Sander @ NI !
    Thanks for answering!
I‘m running 10.15.5 release on my Mac.
    It is very strange.
It looks like the playlists are kept in a chache.

    Greetings Michael

Ok thats weird, yes it appears to be created playlists which you deleted afterwards which seem to be outside of the Music Library because when you would give me the Music Library they won't show on my computer. Will try to see if I can simulate it somehow and have a dev look at it.

MiFa1969, sorry this is happening to you but I'm relieved that someone else has this problem and not just me.

I've spent about 4 hours trying to figure out where these playlists were coming from, but I could not figure it out. I created a Swift playground which shows all the playlists in my Music library and they appear in the script output as well. (Also any app that uses the iTunes Library SDK also shows these ghost playlists, too.) I opened a ticket on the Apple dev forums as well.

I created a new account on my computer, and after all my iCloud/Music data finished syncing, the playlists did not show up on the new account. After 15+ years of using Migration Assistant, I figure it is time for me to start with a fresh user and selectively copy the data over that I need.

This is why I recommend a clean install every year. To get rid of old system data.
Costs some hours of time but definitely worth it.

Just save all needed data and your music on a second partition, clean install OS from prepared usb, install Traktor, Open Traktor and go to Settings - File Management, change Location of Root folder to your folder at second partition and you are ready to go.
Overall time for this: maybe 1.5 hours

    Not a single issue here.
    Playlists are fine.

    Sander @ NI , Enzo @ NI , MiFa1969 ,

I think I figured it out. These playlists exist in the newly separated TV and Podcasts app, neither of which I use. I deleted the playlists in those apps and most of the "ghost" playlists have disappeared. ("Most Recent" and "My Top Rated" are still appearing in the list though. I'll let you know where I end up finding them.)

(I used the lsof command to show everything open related to AMPLibraryAgent, which showed that there was TV Library, which reminded me of the newly created apps.)

Aaaand got the last of them by zapping my Podcasts database (after archiving/zipping them).

Deleting all these extra playlists seems to have solved the issue where my smart playlist "Recently Added" did not show the true full contents when looking at it in Traktor.

    Hi kokernutz ,
thank you so much for your help!
I tried to delete the podcast libraries.
However, the playlists are still there.
I also found a few playlists in the podcats, but there are still about 20 of them.
    Am considering reinstalling my Mac.
    Wouldn't be wrong either.
Or do you have another idea?

    Best regards Michael

I don't think you need to reinstall macOS do fix this.

Did you delete the playlists out of the TV app? (Go to the Library tab and delete any there.)

When you deleted the podcast library, do you mean you deleted the files in
    /Users/[username]/Library/Group Containers/243LU875E5.groups.com.apple.podcasts ?

    Have you restarted?

    Hey guys,

Thanks for all the investigating ! :) We actually do filter out non-related lists from the iTunes/Music but somehow these pop up but we know how to repro now so we can most probably prevent these lists from showing up if the API supports it. I am not able to make playlists in the Podcast app though only stations..... But I can see when I make playlists in the TV app they show up in Traktor.

    Best

Hmm, where can I find this folder to delete this out of the TV App?

Yes, I have delete the files in this folder.

    Yes

I don't have a playlist in all apps except Music.
And it still looks like this:

Hmm. It sounds drastic but try deleting everything in your /Users/[username]/Library/Caches folder and restart? I think I might have done this somewhere along the way in trying to fix this. (I remember deleting the Podcast database files didn't immediately solve the problem. It might have been after deleting the caches and restarting my MBP.)

OK, I have deleted all files and directories that I can delete.
But the old playlists are still there.

Hmmm maybe a right-click on the Music node in Traktor and refresh playlists?

I'm at a loss here, sorry.

    Doesn`t get better.
    Nevertheless many thanks!
    It's not that bad now.
I would have been interested to know where that is still hidden.
