TRAKTOR 3... DECK LOCKED!!! in the middle of a gig!!

I have the same problem and I use S2MK2 & S4MK2. I use MAC & WINDOWS 10.
I have version traktor 2 & traktor scratch 2. I bought version 3 to get rid of this problem.
The same problem everywhere....
Of course nothing happened.
The NATIVE INSTRUMENTS is probably making fun of us.
One in charge at least to give us a solution?
Of course not because they are making fun of us.
UNACCEPTABLE.

 

why doesn't n.i. just fix this 5 year old bug

 

After 10 or so years of using Traktor, this happened to me yesterday, of course, during the live show. So much fun! Of course, just like any other Traktor bug I've encountered, this one is also years old and never fixed (I am using the latest version of Traktor on WIndows 10). Just bulls**it. Considering other DJ software since NI is obviously uninterested in fixing their stuff.

 

Can you state which version of Traktor you are using and which build.

Wow OK, so please can you direct me to this mythical setting that unlocks the deck? What function? There is NO setting within Traktor that stops a DECK from playing! Apart from "Only load in stopped deck" but even with this option deactivated the problem still persists, please help!

 

I'm still getting the Deck locked, usually on the B deck, then I have to go into settings > Loading and turn off "only load into stopped deck" and then hope I don't accidently load into a playing deck. I'm on version 3.4.2.256

 

That’s a pretty major bug. Is NI aware of this?

I hope it will be fixed with the 3.5 update..

 

Confirming this happened to me on 3.4.2 256 under Windows 10. I used to DJ 4 or 5 nights a week and it would happen to me about once ever year or two.

I'm also a software developer so know a thing or two about fixing bugs. What N.I. need to fix this is a way to reproduce the bug consistently so they can figure out what code is causing the problem. If anyone figures out a way to recreate this bug on demand please post it.

 

My friend is having a similar problem using his mac laptop with a tracktor s2 deck. One side just freezes and he has to completely restart the program. It happened to him twice at a gig last night. I use the same setup and it happened to me when I first started out but rarely does anymore. Does anyone have any updated intel on what I should tell him to doublecheck? I don't think it's an update issue, altho perhaps a compatibility problem. Anyway, any advice is much appreciated. This is a classic problem I had back when I first started using Traktor in 2013 but I can't remember how I fixed it. LOL...

 

Got the 'Deck Locked' bug last night for first time, of course in front about about 1,200 ravers. Fortunately had VirtualDJ on my laptop so brought it up and finished the set with no cue points and lousy syncing due to lousy beat grids in VDJ. Damn, I use this software weekly for years and have never had this but see it appears to be out there. Deck B for me also, Rebooting Traktor acted weird, nothing in either deck but the beat sync bars were acting like some was in there. Still wouldn't load a track. Abandoned Traktor for the last hour.

Same problem for me with version 3.5.1 in windows 10, this has happened to me today, the solution to be able to finish my set was, go to configuration and deactivate the option "Only load in stopped deck". so I could continue. I have returned to the previous version, I will wait for a new version

 

3.5.1 and it's still going on.

 

When annoying things like this happen, in frustration, I start pushing all the buttons. What seemed to work was doubling the playing deck in the freezed deck. Lower the volume of the freezed deck. Play on decks C and D until the frozen deck starts playing.

 

So we can all agree then that NI have the worst customer service because there has not been one word form them on this issue and it's been happening for YEARS. I'm thinking of switching to a Rekordbox deck. Does anyone have experience or opinions? Thanks in advance for any insight...

They don’t have to respond as people seem entitled themselves to copy and paste their responses, a lot of the times, out of context. All they have to do is collect the data, Right?

This just happened to me this weekend. First time ever.

 

Shocking.. really! That’s why I’m staying with 2.11 for the time being. I will switch to pair of XDJs as soon as Pioneer will update the current MK2 model.

Its heart breaking saying this after 10 years, but this stability issues, audio glitches, keylock fvcking up the transients, random crashes and whatnot are no easy fix. Unless of course NI completely rewrites the Traktor’s base code from the ground up.

Sadly, I don’t see that happening in the foreseeable future
