If your computer has a wireless adapter, and you haven't already done so, try disabling it and then running Traktor. I don't know if it was a memory issue, or driver conflict, or what, but I was having the EXACT same problem, and that took care of it immediately.

This was on an AMD 64 3000+ with XP Pro SP2, 1GB of RAM, a BCD3000, and Traktor 3.3 (Full).

    @ all with pauses

check your USB chipsets, there is the chipset Intel 82802 GB/GBM which causes problems if I remember well.

    Hello there

I'm a newbie at this so please forgive if this reads like a dumb post...but I’m hoping anyway that someone can help me here with my unwanted pauses.

I’m running Traktor 3 LE on a newly-refurbed HP Compaq nx9010 - 3.06GHz Mobile P4/ 512Mb / 40Gb / XP SP2. Chipset is ATI Radeon IGP 345M (RS200MP)/ALI M1535+. Does anybody know whether this definitely should or should not be compatible?

I’ve gone through msconfig and services.msc and disabled a load of stuff (pretty much all that I can), and now the pauses only really happen when I load a track in or move windows around the screen during play. Any ideas on why this might be and what I can do to eradicate this? Is it due to the shared memory architecture of my video card maybe, and if so, can I do anything about it?

(It all works glitch free when I use onboard sound as the output, but then I’ve no monitor…)

Also, has anyone had any experience with the Hotfixes that Behringer suggests on its support page? These were KB898108, KB908763 and KB918005. The first of these relates to USB2.0 audio streaming

Also (and apols from a newbie for a dumb question) has anyone ever got any conf from Behringer on when a new set of drivers is due?

    Grateful for any help…

    Tom

guys...you are pissing in the wind with this one...until Berhinger get their finger out and fix the problem, then there is no safe way anyone can do a gig and feel totally comfortable with the unit...just bought serato scratch and plugged it straight in and no glitches. Native should distance themselves from Berhinger. its giving them a bad rep!

    Hi Tom,

the chipset should work, but did you deactivate Antivir, WLan, Firewall?

I have said this before and I will say this again ASIO4ALL. Solved all of my issues and then found the BCD3000 to work quite nicely. Felt like I was playing with vinyl again, but smaller.

I agree with Zargon. Asio4ALL solved my HP Pavillion dv2000 (Centrion DUO) laptop pausing issue. Configuration is simple. After installing Asio4ALL, enable both your laptop souncard and the BCD3000 soundcard listed in the Asio4ALL control panel. On Traktor3 souncard routing, route your laptop souncard to the monitor channels and route the BCD3000 soundcard to the master channels. Adjust the latency on the BCD3000 control panel a bit higher (mine's at 40ms) to get a good midi response on your slider/buttons. Plug your sound system to the master out on the BCD3000 and your headphones to the laptop soundcard. Played 2 hours straight with no pauses, glitches and distortion. Planning to use this set-up on a live gig soon.
Hopefully this will keep me going till Behringer solves the duo core chipset issue. Happy spinning!

    Hi guys

Thanks very much all for your responses.

Mike - thanks for the confirmation on the chipset - I had disabled the dvd-rom, antivirus, firewall, etc (i've no WLAN) and it did improve things but didn't totally fix.

Zargon, McAlbert - thanks for the tips on ASIO4ALL. Monitoring will be tough as my laptop just won't be loud enough, but the sound has to be better for the master output than from my onboard soundcard until Behringer issues a complete fix.

    All the best

    Tom

    Bcd

    Hi everyone..

I used ASIO4All for some mixes at home, but just before I came to perform live, I used the DPCLatency checker, turned off my DVD-rom in control panel, and after that never used the ASIO4all more. I use now the normal BCD3000 ASIO soundcard, monitors are directly from my BCD and I have no pauses...did you try this setup? I can just hear, that the sound quality is a bit worse when using the ASIO4ALL and I think that it can be heard much more on big loudspeakers..I recommend not to use the ASIO4ALL, but to use the latency DPC checker to check which device is doing the latencies...

    http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml

and by the way, I dont think behringer will fix this issue (with this chipset) in a short period...I think they wont be able to fix it ever :)

    bye...

Hmmm... I tried Asio4all last night on a number of different settings, and no joy - no matter what latency I set it stuttered really badly.

I've had the dvd-rom switched off since I installed the BCD (along with all the other recommended stuff) and no joy.

I've used the DPC latency checker, and although it peaks at the same time as the unwanted pause, the peak is never large enough to get into the red-zone so it doesn't tell me anything about why I'm getting latency - in fact, what it does say is pretty much 'all is ok with latency, your machine is fine for audio streaming'.

On that last point from Kuchin, we'll see if he's right. I wrote to Behringer, explaining I'd tried all the (half-assed) 'fixes' on their site but nothing seemed to work, asking if my system spec was compatible but more importantly when they anticipated a new set of drivers would be ready. They asked me to send a System Information File for them to take a look at, but no word on those new drivers...

I'm really wishing I hadn't bought this now... htf can Behringer continue to sell something like this that has so many issues with it?

Yeah I was really annoyed and disappointed after I had bought this BCD3000, cos I had bought also BCD2000 year ago, and after I had found out that there are big problems with it, I returned it right on next day, so I was really looking forward to BCD3000 but it isnt so much better than the BCD3000, the only difference is that you can really use scratching in traktor, which cannot be done with the bcd2000. Okay, but I think you will solve the problem somehow, everybody I know solved the problem, so I think it´ll be ok.

I´m quite satisfied now, when no latencies, but I wish I had bought the VESTAX VCI-100 which is just a little more expensive, but much better and proffessional. I even think about buying Torq Xponent, which is the competition for Traktor, but I was playing along with it and it is really worth it.

I dont know what else can help you..maybe the last thing, try this: go to: control panel/system/performance settings and try to check your pc for better performance, not the visual quality..this has helped me alot, cos when I was sometimes mixing, and pushed too much knobs together, my pc restarted, when i turned the performance settings on, it never happened more.. and also disable everything what works on the USB interface in laptops: webcam, bluetooth, wireless, etc...and also the CD-rom...

Thats all i can say...or we can just hope that those behringer suckers will come up with something intelligent...and it all happens cos behringer is the cheapest from all music trademarks...in this music field, its almost always better to spend a little more money, cos the quality you get will return back your investment...

    PEACE:..

    It's the audio driver..

Did you notice that the dropouts happens only with the song that hadn't been analyzed? (it happens with me though..) I suspect the BCD sounds drivers as the main problem.. :( I wonder when will Behringer fix this..

i also have this issue with the bcd3000 and traktor 3 and my solution was to disable my wireless adapter.
the thing is, the bcd3000 was also freezing in winamp, windows, bsplayer and any other software that i set to use the bcd3000's soundcard. so i don't think it's related to traktor in any way.
my biggest problem right now is that i can't use my internet connection to stream my mixes :( coz i only have wireless connection at home..

I think it really depends on exact hardware configuration of your laptop...I had the dropouts only in traktor (of course until i solved the problem, like I wrote before), but in winamp or other audio programs I had no dropouts...now I can even let my wi-fi enabled, I can mix without dropouts or restarts..it really depends on your machine, not the BCD...

Yes, it depends on your laptop configuration, and the same exact problem exists with both the BCDs, 2000 & 3000, Win Vista or XP ! It's an hardware problem.
With a BCD-2000 on a Dell XPS M-1210 Laptop & Win XP wich was already totally optimized for audio pourpouses, I got 5 secs. pauses every 15-20 minutes. A friend with a brand-new Sony Vaio, Win Vista and the BCD-3000 had the same problem.
5 secs. of Traktor total "paralysis" every 15-20 mins. !
I saw people disabling services, ethernet, wireless, cd-rom also to get it work...and many didn't solve the problem...the same 4 us.
We BOTH solved this by removing the battery from it's slot, running our laptop on power-plug with no battery attached.
    It doesn't cost anything...try it...
Maybe it will do the job 4 you too.
    Hope this helps!

If this will solve the problem it is worth a try to deactivate the ACPI manager and the battery in the device manager... this should also help then

Yes, could be ! Anyway, I never tried that tip 'cause if I disable the ACPI management or directly the battery device, I don't know how the battery will behave about charging, discharging and if I want then to use it 4 other pourpouses...so, unplugging it seems faster & safer to me...considering also that the battery is something that can degrade if used and managed unproperly...
    ok, just an opinion!

    ...I forgot...
Anyway the problem I think could really be something about power-management, battery or acpi or other I dunno, but I noticed also that other progs have other problems, but not this one. This is tipical about Traktor...and Traktor is the only one featuring a battery-charge monitoring icon on top...maybe just a coincidence...maybe not...

no. previous versions (3.2 i think) didn't have a battery monitor if i remember correctly.. but yeah, it may have something to do with power management..

    3.2 -> 3.3

Don't remember, but I noticed N.I is working around this problem.

    3.2 = unwanted long pauses
    3.3 = unwanted short drop-outs & skips

So...far from perfection, but better than before.
In both situations pulling out the battery from the slot worked for me.
Has anyone tried ? If you did, post here your results, positive or negative.
    I'm curious to know!
