I've got a dell 6400 with the Intel chipset Asio problem, installed the asio4all, to counteract the problem for the mean time, all working nicely now.. EXCEPT.. 1 small problem! every time I press a button on the BCD3000 I have to press it twice for it to active/deactivate! Anyone know the reason why? Pots are fine it's just the buttons and its bloody annoying!

Try to check your BCD 3000 control panel:
when in traktor, go to preferences, audio setup and control panel, BCD 3000 control panel will appear and on the right you can see "GLOBAL MODE" it should be switched to "STANDARD"

...or you can download my .tks file, which is working perfectly, also with scratching, and when holding the EXT in B button you can switch to use the CHANNEL EFFECTS with 4 FX CONTROL buttons on your bcd..:)

theres no need to put it in a special folder, copy it anywhere on your HDD, then in traktor preferences go to midi setup, midi and click load...:) thats all :)

p.s.: its TKS no TSK :p

BCD3000 Pauses (Its Behringers ASIO Drivers not NI)

I am having this problem. its a problem with Behringers ASIO Driver and any laptop computers equipped with Intel Dual Core (or Core-Duo) CPU and the Intel 82801 GB/GBM host controller chipset, with the Windows XP / SP2 operating system. This does not affect Mac OS-X, desktop PCs, or single-core laptops. A lot of Dell laptops have this problem.
Behringer do not seem to be fixing the problem.

Please find details on following link

I had the same problem with the BCD3000 connected to a Dell M1330 Core 2 Duo T7500 laptop - powerful enough one would think. I found out (on some forum, I forget which) that if you connect the BCD to a powered USB hub the problem goes away.... and it does =)

Hi, that sound interesting and worth a try. When you say 'powered USB hub' do you mean one that has to be plugged into a mains supply, or just one that draws power from the laptop?

You'll need one that plugs in to the mains.

I ended up with this one: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=158910 - from pcworld for about £20, but there are plenty more out there that do the same thing.

The other day I moved my gear and forgot to plug via the hub, sure enough within 20 minutes the sound had dropped out, plugged in and it was fine for 6+hrs. It also happens on another Intel Santa Rosa laptop so I think it's some buggy Windows/Intel driver code.

I've also found this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/898108 although not tried it yet - looks like it will be in XP SP3 when it comes out later this quarter - might save you £20.

OK. I've been using Traktor with first a Behringer BCD 2000 (went through two of them in 2 years), and now BCD 3000 (on my second one).

I think they're awesome. The only reason that I've destroyed so many is because I tend to get a little rowdy when playing. 2 were on the receiving end of spilt drinks lol! I play an average of 3-4 gigs a week playing house in grimey clubs. If I used super expensive controllers, I'd be a lot more out of pocket by now. I played vinyl for years, and moved on to a laptop and never looked back. I've never played a CD at a gig in my life.

My 2 previous gig laptops (yes I kill those too) have worked beautifully out of the box (no tweaks) with Traktor & Behringer. All I did was install XP, traktor, BCD Drivers, import tks and copy mp3's accross.

I have learnt to trust this rig implicitly. I don't even take emergency CD's. The only time it has ever crashed has been when I'm too drunk/ buckled and pull cables out accidentally :s

Anyway, a little off topic, but a bit of background never hurts.

So I replaced my laptop this week because I cracked the mainboard of my old one on the way home last Sunday night (long story).

All of a sudden I hit problems.

Firstly I bought an Acer Aspire 5315-201G08Mi The specs are easily good enough (an upgrade from my last 1.7Ghz P4m). Audio drops out every 20 seconds for about 3 seconds.

I clean install XP Pro sp2 and load up DPC latency checker and systematically disable just about everything extraneous. Still no dice. I go and turn off all un-necessary services. Also USB power management, ACPI, plus the usual XP tweaks etc. Still no joy. Spent about 2 days messing with the thing before I returned it.

Reason #1 for making this post: DON'T BUY AN Acer Aspire 5315-201G08Mi for DJ use. If I can save one person the headache then this long rant is worth it.

Now, being the glutton for punishment that I am, I then bought an Acer 17" Aspire 9425WSMi

Again out of the box, no joy. I experienced exactly the same dropouts! Aaaaagh! But this time I fixed it.

Which brings me to reason #2 for posting: What I did to this laptop to get it to work. Step by step.

    Clean install XP Pro SP2.

Install all LATEST onboard hardware / chipset drivers.

    Install BCD3000 Drivers.

    Priority Background processes.

Create two hardware profiles. 1 DJ, 2 Network.

In the DJ hardware profile device manager, disable:

    Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery
    DVD Rom Drive (Doh!)
    LAN Adapter
    WiFi Adapter

Note that Traktor seemed to be fine with the networking on, but I don't need it whilst playing, so I killed it.

In the Network Hardware profile, everything is enabled. When you boot XP, you just select the profile you wish to use.

    Works like a charm.

I hope this helps somebody. I also suspect that this may work for any Acer laptop using the intel 965 chipset.

    Finally got it working

I just got new BCD3000 and experienced same problems as others getting the ASIO card working.

I could easily get the BCD working with non ASIO drivers but what's the point if you can't have channels 3 and 4 for PFL.

I am posting this in the hope it may help someone else.

First I noticed that the problem had occurred on some laptops with Core Duo chips - however -

i had problem with Centrino Chip.

    My details are as follows
    Toshiba Tecra 2
    Pentium Centrino 2 GHZ
    1.5 MB RAM
With the following chipset family - Mobile Intel(R) 15GM/GMS/PM Express Chipset family

I went to Toshiba site and updated all drivers in particular BIOS and Chipset drivers.

This has sorted the problem ...

ASIO card works with Traktor and Virtual DJ 5

    Hope this helps someone else

Did you do the optimizations? WLAN off, Antivir off, Modem off, Firewall off, USB root hubs cancel power saving possibility...

If this is on a laptop... TAKE OUT THE BATTERY! I have no idea why it works and I am not too sure I care. It just does.

    Grantdub ...

read my previous post ... you need to upgrade drivers

all the disabling didn't help me at all!

... and you seem to have almost the same config as me (i.e. Centrino and 1.5RAM) - go to your laptop manufacturers site and get drivers.

PS chipset drivers will not update until you update BIOS driver first!
