I have bought a BCD3000 with Traktor 3 LE and I have been trying to make it work properly for days!

The problem is that for no apparent reason, the software will freeze every few minutes for a few seconds. I tried to disable everything that can be disabled on my laptop. No result. I used to use my files directly from my hard drive. Now I have started the analyzing process with Traktor to see if it will solve the problem. But with the amount of mp3 I have, it will take days for the program to analyze all my files before I can check if it solved the problem.

Dos anybody know what to do?

I can't believe it is soooo complicated to have this thing running flawless!

Instead of analyzing all songs you have, try to analyze only a few. maybe 30. This will take about 10 minutes. Then play those 30 songs for about an hour. If you dont get any freezes you found the problem.
As a digital dj its not the best idea to have 30.000 songs. You should think about organising your music and only analyse those songs that you really consider to play with traktor.
    I hope this helps.

    Thank you for your help,

But after another evening of trying everything possible to make my BCD3000 and Traktor run properly, I finaly decided to abandon, and go for another equipment (most likely Hercules RMX with Virtual DJ). It is not normal that you would need to de-activate almost everything that can be de-activated on your laptop to have a software running! When I read in a thread here that a possible solution to my unexpected pauses could be to remove the battery (!), that was it for me!

I really think that NI should dissociate itself from Behringer, because most people don't. And there goes the reputation of NI...

The problem is Windows... not Behringer. ;) I guess you will get the same problems with other soundcards. Removing the battery can be avoided by disabling the "acpi-conform control method battery" in the device manager. :D

    These are just prevention measurements.
You can run whatever you want while DJing, but this can lead to unwanted side-effects like you experience them.

Especially WLAN,AntiVir and firewalls are known to be troublemakers.

to be honest i also think the rpoblem is your windows installation. if you have the space i would repartitionate the harddisk and make one exclusively for djing....

Traktor LE works just fine when I'm using it solely on my laptop (with EVERYTHING enabled). Problem starts when I connect the BCD3000.

No Behringer connected = Works fine
    Behringer connected = Problems.

Now tell me this is not a Behringer issue...

Anyway, never thought that I would need a bachelor in computer engineering to have a little fun at DJing...

Well, tahts good news. What i suggest is that you raise the latency settings in your behringer asio drivers. Something about 10ms, just to check if this improves the freeze issue

I have tried everything that was posted on the different threads (many I must say!) relating to those unwanted pauses. Disconnet WiFi, turn off Antivir, change the latency settings, remove the battery...and like many others, it hasn't change a thing! The only thing that I did not turn off is the laptop iteslf!

Anybody interested in buying a second hand Bheringer BCD3000 controller? I swear it hasn't served much...

so, you still get freezes with a high latency and playing only analysed files?

    Yes I do.

I no longer have the BCD3000. Got rid of it.

I'm now looking for the Numark Total Control with the DJ I/O. We'll see if it work better.

Just to add my 2c to this - I bought a BCD3000 the other day, and also love it, but it was locking up after playing a track or two.

After a couple of hours of browsing forums, changing settings, drivers etc.. it turns out my USB extension cable was too long - and it would lock up the unit, leaving Traktor / VDJ stumped as to what had happened.

So anyway, if your reading this, and using an extension cable, try connecting the BCD directly to the PC / laptop - no extensions / hubs in the way. (Of course, you'll then run into the "my unit doesnt work because ive changed USB slot" problem. )

I managed to get around this by turning off the unit, showing non-present drivers ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/241257 ), uninstalling the two "BCD 3000" entries, then running the setup file again.

    Hope this helps!

    power management

The problem you have with BCD 3000 could be the POWER settings in Windows. I had the same problem with BCD 3000 runing on VISTA until i found that the POwer setting in my computer was set to BALANCED. This setting does not power the USB port properly so you have audio dropouts and program freeze even at maximum latency settings. The power settings must be set to POWER ALWAYS ON or something like that or you will have problems with any of the controllers out there. Hope it helps.

    To all of you believers,

I have changed my BCD3000 for a Numark Total control with the DJ I/O, and guess what? It works like a charm. No freezes. No need to turn off everything that can be turned off on the computer. No particular settings. NOTHING! Simply "plug n' play".
    I rest my case.

I have been getting these freeze ups to and I agree with JOLY. No one should have to disable all these different things on your computer to have this software run flawless.

I use to use Mix Meister and that never froze up on me.

I think I will have a little more patients with this all though. I have invested the money in the BCD3000 and even had to re-order the traktor 3 le from Behringer again because they sent me a bad disc without the actual program on it.

Anyhow I will read through this thread to see what will help without making my computer completely open to virus attacks and what not.
