Traktor 3- play button not working

hello,
every time I click the play button it doesn't work, the track doesn't start but it stops immediately. I tried to uninstall traktor and reinstall it but it doesn't go the same, I thought it's a latency error but it doesn't go the same. I can't understand what the problem is.

I'm having the exact same issue. Veteran user so I've gone through all the usual suspects and still can't figure out the problem. Watching this thread...

 

are you using custom mappings?
this is a typical sign of a double installed mapping (play = toggle, then its applied twice = canceled action)

 

Is this like the CUE buttons sometimes not responding?

 

No custom mappings. I have a late 2013 MBP that was running Mojave and just upgraded to Catalina, everything was working fine before the upgrade so I have a feeling that has something to do with it. My iMac late 2012 runs it just fine so...?

 

The cue buttons are actually the only thing working: when I hold a cue button down the track will play as normal. When I push the play button on the S8 or when I click the Play button on the software I get a short burst, about 40ms of sound, then it just stops.

 

Solution found, this was emailed to me from a support staff and everything works great:

- close Traktor Pro 3

- go to: Documents > Native Instruments > Traktor 3.3.0 (or highest installed version)

- you should find the "Traktor Settings.tsi" file

- please rename it to "1_Traktor Settings.tsi"

- start Traktor Pro 3

- now directly click through the Setup Wizard with "next > next > next > finish"

 

just a moment before pushing a reinstall, i decide to google first and land here

i had the same problem after doing something with the controller manager but it only became problematic after a reboot

so i made sure that my last working settings were there and everything went again. i had to delete a wrong configured device from the controller manager.
