one interesting thing to come out of this traktor 'Pro' news is that NI has automatically called its previous versions sub-pro or amateur use, which totally cotradicts its marketting as a 'pro' product.

the industry has known for a long time that Traktor doesn't cut it in a professional environment and this just proves the point.

    what a farce.

Yeah I know, I'm so sick of being an amateur. You should buy Serato. Or is it Serableton now?

Can I have your Traktor gear in the meantime? I offer you $100USD. I mean, I have no problem continuing in my amateur/pro farce anyway.

    Sarcasm.

    ------

Apparently sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.
But as a certain William Shakespeare wrote "Better a Witty Fool than a Foolish Wit"
I have no idea what that means.

He also wrote "the pen is mightier than the sword," but I know which one would be in my list of 5 preferred weapons in a zombie attack. :p

So let me get this straight...

If you buy this new Pro version you automatically are admitted to a secret society of the upper echelon of world famous DJ's? WOw that' easy!

The "Pro" indicates that the changes in Traktor Pro focus on club performance aspects more than anything else. That does not conflict with the fact that around a fourth of the DJ Mag Top 100 are already playing out with Traktor 3 and Traktor Scratch.

My factual observation, based on your recent posts, is that your sole reason for posting on this board is to make a stink, which doesn't really go well with our forum rules.

It really bugs me when people claim these 'factual observations' that are clearly just tainted views from a negative stand point.

Thomas makes a great long over due point here.
Anyone can use Traktor you dont have to be a club DJ you can just be a bedroom dj or just some who likes to mess about with music for fun.
BUT: the fact remains that Traktor has always been a piece of software aimed at DJing in live situations.

Adobe Photoshop is a professional graphic design program but that doesnt stop my mum making xmas cards with it. That doesnt mean that PShop isnt for professionals.

Its called PRO because its 'more' professional than before . That doesnt mean it wasnt professional previously. Isnt that bloody obvious ...?

Maybe you should see the PRO part of the new software name as PROGRESS.

That's exactly it. As soon as I expressed interest in Traktor Scratch Pro, Andy C called me up and asked if I'd like to go get a pint. Then Carl Cox texted me and said yes, absolutely he DOES have the 40 bucks he owes me and he'll be in town to drop it off and I can come with him to Ibiza if I would like. I'm so awesome. I feel like Frankie Wilde from "It's All Gone Pete Tong". Except with more drugs and less hearing loss.

I feel like I'm the exact opposite on the more and less front.
and yes I could pretend to be Wild Frankie if needed.

Wow, I've been out of touch, was in NYC for a while, mocking Fairfield and generally hating on New Jersey (F*CK YOU NEW JERSEY). Anyhoo, I'm back and now my turntables are missing. It seems my friends borrowed them for some sort of 4-deck battle and now I cannot play anything. FACK.

I actually just watched It's All Gone Pete Tong again and now am looking to buy some thongs. Not the underwear kind (drawer is full) but the kind you wear on your feet, aka flip flops.

On a recent Gig I did sound for there was a guy using Serato. HIs system went down almost ten times. At which points I just played something off of NI's beatport sync player! It sounded better, it was more stable, and it got me the JOB that the serato user had previously. Seriously of all the DJ solutions out there. This NI stuff is the number one. Just learn how to use it.
