I just got the crossgrade yesterday. Tried to activate but it says "You have attempted to activate an update. No previous full version of this product is registered to your specified NI account"

In the product overview however it shows that I have Traktor 3 activated. Is traktor 3 not valid for the crossgrade? I got Traktor 3 back in 2006 so it was definitely registered before May 31st.

I emailed support and this is the tracking number: RS 272069

    Can anyone help expedite this.

    Peace

Ok now it looks like my previous Traktor software is a bootleg version. I bought it off some dude on ebay, looked real at the time but on second look the cd looks to be homemade.

Anyway, I would still like to use Traktor Scratch. How can I upgrade to the full version?

    Please help

UUUHHMMMM... I'd hazard a guess you need to buy a real copy at real prices, DO NOT Expect a 'hard-luck' discount, there are none.

If its truly a pirated copy you bought for $30 you'll need to alert Ebay to the sale and the fact it was for pirated or counterfeit software. Their view on such matters is pretty dim and they'll likely terminate the account of the seller. If you paid by paypal let them know too because they also take a dim view of such things and can reverse the transaction charges upon investigation and substantiation of the claim. If you were <and I'm being politely blunt here> dumb enough to buy into the "must pay by cash or Money order" demand then kiss your money bye-bye. That should have been your red flag warning right there!

Like they say "anytime the deal looks too good to be true... it is"...

Lesson learned. Anyway I guess I will wait for the full version of Traktor 3.3 and buy that. Cuz the Traktor Scratch upgrade is way too pricey ($300).

Oh-oh... You are not gonna like this piece of bad news then.

In order to make use of Scratch functionality in Traktor 3.3, you have to be a registered Traktor Scratch owner; i.e. you must purchase Traktor 3 AND Scratch!

Buying Traktor 3.3 alone will not get you scratch DVS support in the application.

Wow, if this is true then NI really sucks. I can't front though, I still love the Audio 8 DJ. I'm using it now to record from Serato (shameless plug). I'm not totally disappointed cuz the Audio 8 DJ is a nice looking soundcard with good features. Would've been nice to use the Traktor Scratch software.

    Peace.

Why is it that NI sucks? Were you not the one who bought the counterfeit software on the cheap and it is you now paying the price? How is it that NI doing business as a music software and hardware Business can be determined as having a high suck factor?

I'm pleased that you like the A8 but just realize if you want to play the toonz you gotz to buy the goods to play on first.

PhilL, thats just my opinion of the situation. I agreed that it was my mistake for coppin the illegal version in the first place. I'm trying to do right and plan to buy a legit version of the new Traktor software but now I find out it wont work unless I have the full version of Traktor Scratch.

See my crossgrade version is completely legit. I bought it off audiomidi.com. Being overcharged for the Traktor Scratch upgrade is what makes NI "suck". That and not being able to buy the new Traktor software and having it work with the Audio 8 DJ right out of the box. Peace.

No No No you misunderstood what I said and besides I did not explain it well at all. For that I offer my apologies. Your Scratch Crossgrade will do the job for you.
I'm assuming you want to do DVS inside Traktor 3.3 right? To do that what YOU need is a legit licensed version of Traktor 3 and your Traktor Scratch Crossgrade version. Since you are about to be a licensed Traktor 3.2 user, you will be entitled to obtain the 3.3 upgrade (when available). When you are properly registered with Traktor 3 you'll be able to setup your Scratch crossgrade license registration and then when you have 3.3 running in the near future you will have Scratch DVS support in Traktor 3.

So to recap, you do NOT need to return your Scratch Crossgrade! You do need to purchase Traktor 3 full version or Traktor 3 upgrade version if you already have a legit registered Traktor 2 license.

Does that help clear things up? Once again my apologies for confusing you.

Good. That means NI does not necessarily "suck". Thanks for clearing that up. BTW I wasnt planning on returning the crossgrade. The price I paid for it was actually less than the A8DJ price.

    Peace.
