Have anyone encountered any issues with Traktor using the iTunes library as content source while you're subscribed to the streaming service "Apple Music"? I already use iTunes Match which complicates things a bit already, but so far Traktor has been unaffected. I keep AAC versions of my entire library on my 64gb iPhone, so I do sync with iTunes, as well as I manually sync AIFF files with my own latest mixes.

I know already Apple Music will stop my usual local iTunes music sync, unless I do it manually, and I've held up a trial because of it. Lately Spotify have fallen out of favor by me for a number of reasons and I'd like to try Apple Music.
I'm contemplating simply separating two libraries, so that my main library isn't active when streaming, but I think this will not be fool proof, especially as I have automation that open iTunes after I've purchased tracks. Also I'd like to have my library on my iPhone and use streaming at the same time. Sooner or later this kind of set up is bound to cause issues.

Any experiences on Apple Music affecting Traktor operation that you can share, please?

Yeah, I just discovered this today too. When I try to import songs into Traktor that I downloaded from Apple Music (even when downloaded locally) Traktor says "unknown format."

Songs that I've bought from the iTunes Store, however, still load as expected.

Yes, this is to be expected as the streamed files are DRM-protected. Unlike iTunes Match files as well as purchased or ripped files.

I had a talk with Apple Sales last night and I decided to make a backup and test Apple Music Streaming without matching any files (except for iTunes Match). According to support I should be able to sync manually to my phone now. I'll give it a try.

No, this not the problem at all. I do know of course which tracks I've bought or received for my crate and which ones are in Apple Music.

What you describe isn't even what I described that is about copying existing tracks in my Mac iTunes Library to my iOS devices with Apple Music. DRM'ed tracks never enter into this problem space for me and iTunes Match tracks aren't DRM'ed. I don't have iTunes Match anymore. Unfortunately the only way I can do this conveniently at all, even using iTunes, is to inactivate iCloud Music Library. With this off I can copy no problem, but I also lose all my Apple Music playlists and any offline downloads. If I reactivate I do seem to get some playlists back, but I haven't investigated that part in detail yet.

I could also get around this if I attempt to add my computer iTunes Music Library — that I use as the base for Traktor since many years — to iCloud Music Library. This comes with 2 caveats, which are that I must trust that Apple do not partially destroy my local library with my own rips and Beatport/Bandcamp purchases (99% lossless) which I feel skeptic about and also that I must wait for the track to sync, first to Apple and then to my phone. When I've made a full backup I might try this.

Another problem with this workaround is another recurrent part of what I want to copy to my iOS device manually is my own in-production tracks that I don't want in iCloud Music Library, especially as I can't later delete specific tracks in there to the best of my knowledge.

I guess I'm looking at separating my iTunes Libraries, which basically would force me to have my Traktor music and my own tracks separate from everything else. And I would have to handle 2 libraries and keep many incremental backups of my music library. I do feel Apple could handle this more elegantly. Also for everyday users with limited music libraries this is all too complicated.
