Traktor and Macbook Froze

Last night while playing, both traktor scratch pro and my macbook froze on me for the 4th time.

2.16ghz intel core 2 duo processor
2 gb 667 mhz ddr2 sdram

TSP
Traktor version 1.2.7
However when i click the about link in traktor, the version shows as 1.2.2
I find this a bit fishy and this may be the root of my problem but what am i missing?

The issue;
Deck playing will stop completely, no audio output. The computer is then frozen, no response from the mouse or any keys. I have to press and hold to restart my computer and it reboots with no problem and im back playing after a restart.

When it stops there is no error message, nor is there any error message when it reboots. I checked console in utilities for anything funny and all it shows me is that i had to force shut down. Im no computer genius by any means but the guys at apple couldn't find anything with a diag.. so i don't know what could be going on.

The first two times it froze on me i was recording with sound studio. I figured it was sound studio causing the issue. So i brushed it off.

The 3rd time i was running TSP only it froze mid set and i took it to apple the next day and they could find no issues. Nor could they duplicate the problem. They held my computer over night.

Last night for the 4th time, same thing. Only TSP running

As mentioned before, TSP versions seem to not match up.
Service center states all versions up to date - 1.2.7 where TSP software shows 1.2.2 when i click the little traktor icon to show the "about" info. What did i do wrong? Is there a way to fix this? Does it show this for anyone else?

Any help would be much appreciated. Hopefully i covered everything..

Have you changed the installation path at the first setup of Traktor?
Maybe the installer does not find the old version to update.

 

no, its always been in the same folder since install... unless i moved something out and back in by accident?

 

When you install a new version the installer does not update the Desktop and Dock startup Icons thus you are still starting the old executable.

Go to: Applications >Native Instruments>Traktor and you will find the latest icon.
Replace the ones on the desktop and dock with an alias of the one in the folder.

Try that version.

and sure enough when i click the traktor icon in TSP it shows version as 1.2.7.

I had a gig this past saturday and it was the first time to use the new Traktor 2 pro software with my Traktor S4 and while playing about an hour the software started freezing during my set! The music was still playing but the screen was frozen. Luckily there was another DJ beside that mixed in due to my problems. I've never had this issue on the Traktor S4 software. Any one else have or had this problem?

I have a 2010 MacPro, Mac OS X 10.6.7, 2.53 Intel i5,4 gb 1067 ddr3, 500 gb,

I had all programs closed except traktor and airport off. The memory is only 30 percent full?

 

mine was on TSP 1.

Did you have any other programs running? Airport utility on? Whats your latency at?
