Browser, playlists, file management, layout options, the whole front end is horribly dated. Then there's bugs that have existed for years. Progress doesn't have to try and constantly reinvent the wheel.

Yeah it wasn't the music I found cool
This could easily be used in a set to build on.
Not everything is the drop of the energy.
My point was to show that not everyone uses Traktor the same.
This forum or a list of top controllers is not a good way to tell what most people are buying or doing.
Way too much DJ and music styles or uses to categorize.
What's wrong with Traktor for 50 forum members is not a pinch of what people out there are doing.
    No one is wrong here.
    It's understandable do be disappointed.
Personally I still miss Torq by M audio.
That software looked very promising. And much of the higher end gear gave hope for a good DJ hardware.

Not much competition really. NI looks very shiny with it's Komplete line, Maschine, and the DJ line minus a couple very wanted features and some new jogs. Probably won't hurt the sales overall.

Could be wrong but it's just an opinion.

smart play lists , flexible grids with multiple bpm's , ability to rename files folders and to move files around , being able to see the stripe or waveform of a tune in the browser , having skip points in a tune , having different color options for tunes in the browser , vertical waveforms

and if you think traktor is advanced , then check out vdj

That would be just a start

Flex beat grids can be found apps like Djay. The fact that NI has not been able to add this and other basic features tells you a lot.

None of that is interesting for me!
I like to prepare myself before the gig.
I am trying to imagine Traktor with all this - it will not make my workflow easier at all.

Talking about advanced software, the undeniable fact is that with Traktor I can do anything that you can do with VDJ, and you cannot do everything I can do with Traktor.
EDIT: okay, you can mix video. But I like to be a DJ, not video artist.

I found that particularly use of step sequencer dull too, but I just love to use it in my live sets!

13th, 24th and 33rd second: snare with wormhole fx
    19th sec: closed hi-hat

    Dull or cool?

I don't hear anything that isn't possible with the Remix decks, or the sampler before that. You could even just use cue points in a standard deck.

To be honest, it adds nothing of value to the music regardless.

I am not sure that you understand what is a step sequencer.

No, I definitely do. There was nothing in there that had to be sequenced to make it work.

    Okay, here is my pattern:

Will you please explain to us how can you do this with remix sets or cue points and change that pattern on the fly?
The point is that I found step sequencer great and usefull.
And you are trying to convince me that I don't need it, because all of that I can do without it.

No, here's the pattern, as per you saying above.... 13th, 24th and 33rd second: snare with wormhole fx
19th sec: closed hi-hat. Your words, not mine.

None of that overlaps. I'm not sure what the synth sci fi is, but there are no kicks at any of those time points and there are no overlapping claps or snares.

It was some simple one shot claps and snares with added fx.

33rd second, that is one kick? 19th second, hi-hat, one kick?
But yes, you know better than me what I used.
    Stop trolling please.

Must be the weakest kicks I've ever heard.

Still possible without a sequencer even if they are layered.

At no point does your drawn sequence have a kick and hi-hat layered.

I don't think you understand sequencers to be honest.

I will use step sequencer, you will use cue points and everybody will be happy.
If you think I don't need step sequencer, than I think you don't need cue points because you can use needle drop on X1 MK2 and everybody will be happy again. Let's troll together, why not.

Cue points existed before the X1 though, and I seriously doubt you could reliably use needle drop as a replacement. There is zero in what you posted that wasn't possible before the step sequencer. This isn't trolling, it's just a matter of fact.

You asked for my opinion, and now you're hurt you didn't get the answer you were expecting.

I am not hurt at all. I just don't know how to use remix set to create patterns and change them during a live set. And I am always willing to learn.
will you please explain that to me?

You don't have to create patterns to get the same results. There is nothing complex in what you posted that couldn't be fired as one shot samples.

Not that I'd do either. I fail to see the point of it all.
