Traktor controllers: Where are you going?

DDJ SZ for example , and works perfect with Vdj .
All the Pioneer DDJ line is working PERFECT with Vdj .
BTW : i'm using only Traktor with a DDJ SZ (and it works fine , not so good as Vdj)

I think you have a wrong idea about "DJ software " , you can be a dj with any software ...the important is what you can do NOT what you use .
To use Traktor or Serato doesn't convert you into a "serious" dj .
BTW : I know a lot of graphic designers (good ones) using Corel .
The "Tool" is just a tool .

 

I am with you i do believe the first one (hardware) has more to do with NI being at the bottom of the list. With Denon now back in the controller game it will be interesting to see where NI controllers end up in a year. Hopefully they will have something new out.

 

I totally agree with the above. I am not using VDJ I just saw a DJ with VDJ and SX2 setup. The integration was tight and VDJ has a ton of cool features. VDJ i thought should have gone through a name change and rebrand to change the stereo type about them.

 

who cares about stereo types . vdj works very well and that is the bottom line .

Vdj is serious and that's that .

 

I think that most people do not understand this post. There is talk about Step sequencer, button to scroll to menu’s and other software things but that is not why “Doubleplusgood” made this post. This is about controllers and especially lack of controllers.


I got into Traktor (around 2011) because of the controllers but right after I got Traktor that is when all those serato controllers started coming out. S4, S5, S8 are all nice controllers. But certainly not what I am looking for. I am someone who is getting more and more into scratching so a controller needs to be able to do that. Mostly I do that on vinyl but for some situation in the future I am going need a controller. So I am looking for that controller.


It needs CDJ like jog wheels. So no S5 and S8. It also has to look professional. The S4 looks like a toy compared to a Mixon 4 or a DDJ-SR. Again what is on the market for Traktor is fine but there is a lack choice. And the Serato controllers do not scratch well on Traktor. There is too much latency. This is why the top 10 list shows almost nothing but Serato controllers.



I love traktor. But I cannot imagine myself working with Trator when I use vinyl but use serat when I use a controller. I want to work from one software and I want that to be Traktor if possible. But if I cannot do what I am set out to do I will switch.



This is because Traktor more has a focus on EDM DJ’s and Serato has more of battle style DJ focus. I believe it is because of the protocol that Native uses which makes the software not properly communicate with the Serato controllers out there.

I wish Native would make an announce about some new controllers or developments. That might make me stay using Traktor

I have already lost patience, hair and many wrinkles ... can anyone help me look for a complete TSI and with different colors for the APC 20? I have dealt with it myself, but I do not succeed.
