Traktor Crashes (occassionally)when I drag drop a track into a deck

Hi all,
Traktor is crashing (intermittantly) when I drag-n-drop a track into the deck. Last night it said it had encountered a major problem and needed to shut down. The clients were very happy! Any ideas?:angry:

 

Mac or PC ? Please give your full setup specs.
Check the Traktor crash log. In most cases this is due to a corrupt MP3.
Do you remember which track it was ?
Try to reproduce the crash with that track(s).

 

and if you can reproduce it pls send it to support!

 

I'm using a PC with (you guessed it) Vista and all tracks are stored on an external hard drive that used to use 2 of the 3 USB ports available. I Have added an independant USB Hub that get it's power from a wall plug. Since doing so Traktor has worked better. Sometimes it takes some (2-5sec) time before a track becomes workable, meaning I can cue and advance. I Will mention that the crashing problem has not happened since my last post. I wish I could remember which track crashed the system but can't. Now what can I do with the crash logs? Can I analyse them or have it done? Are they of any use?

I'm using a pc with windows xp and traktor has crashed on me everytime i open it. i looked for the crash log but the folder is empty. i have no idea what is causing it to freeze. i was told that by switching to windows xp from windows vista, it would fix my problem but it's still doing the same thing. any help is greatly appreciated.

 

Welcome to the Forum.

Which version (exact number) of Traktor are you using. You can view the number by clicking the Traktor Header, top left of the screen.

Please provide all information/specs about your laptop and all other hardware, soundcard/contollers and we will see what we can some up with.

When does Traktor crash exactly?
What are you doing when Traktor crashes?
Have you used Traktor successfully at all?

here are my specs:
Toshiba Satellite E105-S1402/Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P8400/4GB 800MHz SDRAM/ 320GB HDD/Traktor Scratch Pro Version 1.0.0.250/2 Technic 1200MK2 Turntables/Vestax PMC07 Pro Mixer

it usually crashes when trying to open the preferences menu. then, if i do get into preferences it will freeze while trying to change an option. today, i was actually able to use the program for about 15 minutes without it freezing and was able to get into the preferences menu without a problem. but, then it froze again after only a few tracks while trying to load a new track into the deck.
any help is appreciated... i've been trying to get this to work for weeks.

I have been facing te same problem here.I use a dell inspirion(vista).every time i try to change my output routing it dies on me.It works ok (still crashes at times though)with audio 8 but if change it to the internal sound card it crashes when i drag a track and load it.it plays for a coulple seconds and then it has a mind of its own.any idea.Traktor 1.0.1.070

First of all please update to the latest 1.1.2 version of Traktor.
See if the problems still exist.

Now when i open traktor it gives me a crash msg.

 

i updated to the latest version and now it freezes while traktor is opening/loading. also it froze again while opening the preferences menu. although, i did get it to open the preferences menu a couple times but then it would freeze again while changing the audio options.

 

What is the crash msg ?


Probably best that you submit a Support form and attach the Crash Log.

i bought the software about a month ago.

well i never did get a crash message. it would just freeze and i would have to manually restart my cpu. fortunately i have a friend who knows much about traktor and computers in general. he downloaded the business version of windows vista and the traktor seems to work great now. i'm not sure what all else he did to my laptop but everything is working fine now.

but..good luck to you! it's a real pain dealing w it, day in and day out. & thanks karlos for trying to help.

 

@theowlax did you managed to get a Crash Log. (not crash messages).
Can you reproduce the crash buy doing the same thing?
If so please note what you do and report it to support with the attached Crash Log.

Im running traktor pro 1.0.2.011 wit xone 4d on mac 10.5 and am having problems wit pro crasing it doesnt , turn off but t decks stop and and t bpm fluctuates on all decks ... i have to then restart traktor and tis keeps happening... i av updated traktor and 4d and its still doin it ....

 

Is there any reason why you have not updated to 1.1.2 ?
