Traktor D2 + Ableton + DJ Mixer. Is this possible?!

Hi

Since Native Instruments released their stem format I want to change my DJ setup.

This is what it should look like:

1) 2 x Traktor D2 for the left and right deck of traktor
2) One instance of ableton (synced with traktor) for playing with loops, samples, vst instruments etc..
3) everything running into an pioneer djm 750 or any other mixer
4) maybe an interface if needed

Is this possible?

Please help me I’m lost in the internet jungle..

I don't see why not. However, you'll have to toggle to full midi mode and create a mapping for ableton to trigger your clips. You can turn on a basic midi mode in the D2 preferences and use the performance section but that's fairly limited - 4 buttons and 4 knobs off the top of my head.

For your loops and samples, it would be far better to import them to traktor and create your own remix sets. That's what the D2 was made for!

If I get time over the weekend I'll give the D2 + Ableton combo a go and report back.

 

Just tested triggering clips in Ableton synced with Traktor using a D2 and it works fine. Hope this answers your question.
