hi, I contacted this week the NI support who doesn't like to be told the truth, ie. that their product does not work for some basic and crucial DJ features (unlike iTunes who is 100% reliable and trouble free) and threatened to shut me down from their services, very rude, what a shame (plus so far they've been unable to help me repair as I believe it may not be possible as they either can't or don't want to!). The public needs to know that Traktor is not as good as advertised and can, in fact, destroy hours of work of a DJ to create and sort his/her music library and playlists. I believe many of us, incl. myself, have been too naive to believe all their false sales claims and seduced by Traktor's fancy marketing/advertising of what is, in reality, a disaster management software (it has a reputation of having bugs if you read the bestseller book 'How to DJ (properly)', even if other features work well it is no excuse.

Indeed, there are some unacceptable bugs such as Traktor Pro2 software destroying playlists:
this has been going on in the past and I used to repair it manually (hoping it was a one off bad luck) as it was possible in these cases, but it got worse recently as I had to prepare for a gig this week:

The playlists I worked very hard for to create (100s of hours) have been moved, without any warning nor me trying to move them in any way, to other Traktor library folders or playlists -mixing with other songs-, hence destroying completely my original playlists and making them useless and unreliable, adding, for eg. 500 unwanted songs to a playlist.
The DJ shop assistant in London told me that he heard the same issues experienced from 100s of Traktor customers and sometimes it concerned 10,000 songs being moved to the wrong playlists or folders.
This causes me to LOSE complete TRUST in Traktor software. Hence, I am considering asking a full refund to NI and buying, for e.g. as advised, Pioneer CDJ, with a good mixer and using reliable and stable music libraries such as iTunes in collaboration with Pioneer's RELIABLE Rekordbox software. I personally feel like I wasted £1500 on Traktor software, equipment & accessories as well as 10 months of my precious life and time learning their entire Manual. I used to love it when it worked though.

This forum is hidden to the public, maybe on purpose, and they need to know what a disaster Traktor can be before buying and wasting their money and most of all time. For me at this point it is a SCAM and this kind of bug totally unacceptable because playlists are one of the most precious, important and time consuming DJ tools to create in order to make a DJ set quality & time effective and his/her life easier.
Anyone had this problem too? thank you.

No, not really. in 5 years heavy use. You can revert to a collection backup anyway. And in case of colossal hard drive failure, Time Machine. There's no good reason for anyone to lose 100s of hours of work on a computer under any circumstances.
    ---
I have, on occasion, dragged and dropped large numbers of files onto a playlist, but didn't find it a problem to sort them and remove them again. To stop me doing stuff to my playlists, the first thing I did was disable the 'delete' key mapping for the keyboard, and setup so I load tracks on with CTRL + left or right arrow. If I'm not dragging tracks onto the decks then I can't drag them somewhere by mistake.

Im all over forums for promotion and crawling. This is the first I have seen of this issue.

Why didnt you just revert to a backup of your library?

Honestly man, buy a CDJ and use iTunes if you think that's more reliable for you.
I cannot reproduce your issue and have never heard of it before.. Not saying the issue does not exist.. But maybe it's you. So enjoy your CDJs if you think that'll make you happy.
