Just because this is 'the DJ industry' how does that make any difference? ...
Are DJs some moronic subspecies that shouldn't expect a bit of proactive customer service?... or expect products to work as advertised? ... these are not exactly 'miracles' as you describe them ....

I paid for Traktor Pro with FLAC support. I'd consider it a very positive bit of PR for NI to release a 1.x.x version with this bug fixed. It would demonstrate a bit of goodwill towards paying customers ... and be a win/win for NI and customers alike.

Yes man, this is so simple really.

You get what you pay for. If you don't get what you paid for, you should either get your money back, or it should be fixed. This is common the world over, no matter what sector or industry, even toys.

Perhaps we should use toys as an analogy...

difference between the DJ industry and the CAR industry are quite a few.

    1. you can't drive traktor... then again, actually you can...
    2. errr... let me think... MONEY... available for... INVESTMENT ? does it ring a bell?
    3. you don't go to work on your turntable or mixer or software do you ? so which one is more important?
    4. Even if it is SO important to you and you depend on it to work, then i'm sure you have the extra money to buy the upgrade. if the bug isn't fixed, i'm sure it will be sometime in the near future.
    5. As far as i know, traktor can't be used to go in a drive-in
    6. I Read somewhere that Karlos is going to get the new TP2 and use the old TSP to cook pizza's... don't ask me how... but i expect everything from this crazy dude..

    7 and last one -
it's up to you - either buy the new software and wait for the bugfix, change to HAM&Serato, or keep using TSP and edit your flac's in audacity... with the tone of time you've spent complaining in here, i'm sure you'd pretty much work out on quite a few songs!

YES it's a bug, but there's a way around to solve it! so, if it was such a priority to you, you'd have solved it by now... clearly you just like to whine about it...

Lack of proper FLAC support is keeping me from fully embracing Traktor as my primary DJing platform. I hope to see this fixed soon...

I mainly buy my tunes from junodownload and digital-tunes.net because they offer flac, unlike the other digital music shops. I insist on purchasing lossless music, for archival purposes.

Flac saves me bandwidth when downloading tunes, flac saves me hard disk space and the only reason why I don't use serato is because they don't support flac.

Flac is important to me and it is absolutely mind boggling that this bug is still not fixed. It has been around for several major versions now, it used to exist in traktor dj studio 3.

This is a well known and publicised bug and whilst I will support NI and get a copy of TSP2 via a purchase of a kontrol s4 I think this bug should be fixed, free of charge to users of TP1 because NI has had all the time in the world to fix this bug.

Does anybody know who to write to over at NI? Perhaps we should send them a copy of this thread. Because bitching and moaning over here won't do a thing to solve our frustration.

I think bitchin and moaning helps. This issue is obviously not high on NI's list of things to fix because they see it as a minor problem. The more users this affects the more likely they are to fix it.

If this happened to MP3s it would be fixed within days.

On the left side of this web page, there's a section "Helpful Resources" under which you can find a link to technical support. I definitively recommend that everyone who is affected by this bug file a support request. (It is reasonable to assume that the more reports NI receives on this issue, the likelier they develop a bug fix.)

Btw, I haven't heard back from NI, despite the fact that Karlos kinda pushed my ticket 16 days ago.

My point. Even when we use the right channels, nothing happens. What I meant was, perhaps one of us knows of a person at NI that deals with these things, and we all right to him/her. Anyway, that's a long shot, just thought we might be lucky.

If you want to start djing digitally you will need some computer know than just a basic user and use google alot. Check for a file coverter from flac to MP3. When I brought traktor 3 studio I said I will not upgrade but I did and now waiting for TSP2 because its going to be better than the previous versions.

    Cheers

    Hey guys,

just FYI in case you didn't notice. The FLAC bug is now mentioned in the release notes of Traktor 2. You can find it in section "Important Notes and Known Issues." NI's exact wording is:

So it appears to me, our bug reports are finally getting acknowledged. If you experience this bug, and have not filed a bug report yet, please consider doing so.
