Just curious about a few things...

Will MIDI mapping will be an option on the new Traktor DJ 2 for PC and/or iPad? Or is it just for NI Traktor controllers like the S2?
Will there be effects other than the quick 1 knob ones?
Will the S2 MK3 continue to bundle Traktor Pro 3 when Traktor DJ 2 is available or is the plan to phase that out?
Does TDJ 2 have remix decks (even if simplified) to accommodate the S2 MK3's control of these? (I guess these would be a special 3rd deck with a Samples volume controller only).

Thanks, but I don't think if I can trust your answers without explanation.

I haven't seen any video of the extra FX yet. I guess they removed the FX controls from the S2 MK3 because it is meant to be the main TDJ 2 controller (also why it has an iPad input).
So the Samples interface on the S2 will be dead when using TDJ2? This doesn't make sense if the S2 MK3 was designed to be a TDJ 2 friendly controller.

And really, they are discontinuing Pro 3 as a bundle? I had a suspicion this might be the case. But still where is the evidence and also, this would likely have a longer roll out as retail boxes probably advertise the bundle still and many online reviews reference the bundle so how are they going to carry this out.

    Hi AmethystLegend,
I am not from NI, so no guarantee on my answers, but my assumptions might help a bit:
    • I do not expect any open midi interface in new future for TDJ2 (same as TDJ1), TDJ (iOS) support NI controller only, starting with S2mk3, Z1, we will see which NI controller will be supported next. But I do NOT assume midi compatibility, also the S2/Z1 etc handshake is coded via NI HID format with TDJ1 (no midi protocol at all).
    • FX: not sure i got the question, in TDJ1 you can control several FX with S2/S4
    • why should NI stop the bundling with TPro and S2mk3 .. the S2m3 is a NI made controller for Traktor Pro (independend from any TDJ2), right ?
    • do not expect any remix decks in TD2, TDJ1 did not have this too .. and in any announcement videos or NI website there is no hint to Remix decks
this video may give some insights more:

Traktor DJ 2 will replace Traktor Pro in the coming years, so naturally most of Traktor Pro's features will be added to Traktor DJ 2. This will take some years however, during which time Traktor Pro will still be supported.

I also believe this is what's going to happen based on what I've read. In the mean time, they'll be two separate paths being developed at the same time, but when the time is right some odd years from now, they'll come together. Similar to Serato Itch and Scratch LIve coming together as Serato DJ.
