Traktor Dj and kontrol s2 mk 2 (ios7 fix)

I'm also in software development and I have to agree agree with nicolapeluchetti... Sometimes, it's a little more complicated than one expects... There can be many reasons why NI has not responded about this issue, but hopefully the iOS 7 issue will be fixed soon.

 

mk2 doesnt work with ios 7 and hardly works with regular macbooks now or windows, this seems like a hardware issue and if it is even to acknowledge there is a problem would be good business. to not say anything for 3 months however is not.

 

Sorry for the late response. My iPad 4 is under iOS 7 and was working very well when I posted my 1st reply. But since then I made another long mix and after around 1h30m, the audio started to glitch and the visuals on the iPad didn't match the music that was playing... I guess I still have to wait until I can play professionally with my iPad again.

 

I'm with you on the way a Little more contact with us ios7 users costs nothing, just a simple few lines to explain where we are at and the future resolvement, I do think that although it would look like a NI problem and apple aren't to blame for this I still as a NI customer expect a fix whilst the product is still on the shelves, if a fix isn't coming soon then I would admire the product taken out of the public domain and a sincere apologie to everyone still waiting patiently, even as far as refunds if not 100% satisfied.
We know it works with traktor pro but this was a product to hit the IOS user by storm and maybe to one day move away from laptop all together and yet 3mths after the warning was put out there a fix still isn't complete. Personally the wait has been to long and shows little hope for the future when things certainly won't slow down after IoS offer further updates. Having said all that IOS6 is seemless... Just what stands in the way of moving on from that era! I assume the majority of customers have moved on already.

 

I've been using it for more than a month with Traktor 2 on a MacBook pro and never had an issue. I DJ every Friday and Saturday in clubs + some nights during the week and everything worked as expected so the compatibility problem is with iOs 7.

 

from what i have been seeing alot of people with newer macbooks past possibly 2011 are having issues not sure if its the usb 3.0 issue again or what. and as far as ios 7 thats pretty much all new ipads. it really limits what you can and cant use, i hope it gets fixed because i prefer traktor over serato and of course over vdj but i wont have a choice eventually.

 

My MacBook it's a 2012 Retina with USB 3.0 ports.

 

Sadly true what a disappointment from NI

 

I am just going by what others are saying the s2 mk2 and mk4 has crashed numerous times according to other users on this forum and others. That is good that it does work for you nicolapeuchetti, but it still seems like this is a common problem that should if nothing else be acknowledged that there is some sort of issue by native instruments. This has not happened at all. That is an example of very poor customer service. I also understand it may take time to fix, bla bla bla. Still it takes 2 minutes to at least put out a statement apologizing for those that purchased these devices that we are working on a fix something. Yet no one even comments, acknowledges nothing. They were quick to anounce the newest controller to work with ipads everywhere you looked. Now that it is full of issues they suddenly go silent.

Oh and just so there isnt any confusion, here is the first post on this forum in the s2/s4 section where numerous people talk about crashing, freezing and other issues with the s2 and s4 mk2 controllers.

Like I said if you look you will see a large amount of people complaining about these devices.

 

I started this thread and it's now apparent that this a huge problem concerning so many and thanks to everyone for your view and experiences! Little has it achieved any further update from NI which again a dissapointing factor, I would like to mention that after 8weeks I have just heard back from NI via email to a question I asked regarding this fix and they replied saying they couldn't comment??? 8weeks wait to hear that! I rest my case.

 

Jeeez thats sad, i guess my unit is going back to the store or ebay, time to start looking at a more serious company for my dj needs. Yup serato im looking at you.

As i said, you should ask for a refund. If they can't comment i'd say that we have to prepare for a looooong wait.

 

Yes i am looking at the serato route via pioneer, a costly one at that but I'm having no joy here and time is not something that i can afford to let someone else take control of, and it appears that this could could be some extreme amount of time to solve. all it takes is a little conversation between business and customer to keep all involved up to speed but with NI i quite simply have to say you are failing to keep in touch with us all on this issue, and i am extremely close to moving on and giving your closest competitor the challange of offering me a more upfront and informative service with there software and hardware options and products.

i really struggle to find any positives in this and i feel i have been taken advantage of with both my loyalty in the company and the hard earned saved money i paid for this item to work with my iPad, it doesn't work and yet you carry on selling them! for future buyers if not helping those who have already bought, do the right thing and update your website listings, and do a recall on all unsold and make changes to your package labelling, stating the IOS7 capability is non functional and its strictly a IOS6 preferred product, its current state is that you are welcoming IOS customers and those on IOS7 well... yes you can buy the item but no it won't work! that i would like to see a little more for the benefit of up and coming Djs that may be interested in the future.

 

Hi again mine is getting picked up tomorrow but I bet I have to wait for refund. Is there any other mixers out there for Traktor that work with the iPad as well don,t really want to go a different route but I am not willing to wait for the fix dose the kontrol z1 have the same issue,s as the s2 be glad of any help how to move on from here as have a gig at beginning of Febuary cheers
