I used the umix last week to sample directly from an analog turntable into beatmaker2: it is the best iOS audio interface I've ever used. I just wish I could charge at the same time..

 

Got my Babyface today from eBay, played with it a bit for a few hours and it looks quite promising. There are two proper working separate stereo outputs. I had a kind of glitch with loss of the cueing function, but this must be due to the weak power supply which I’m using right know, at least according to the RME forum.

So, I think it’s time for you to buy this CCK, though you will need also a powerful power supply, plus a fresh firmware and don’t forget to disable Babyface's “copy mode”.

I have an American Audio VersaPort that I can't get to work. Its powered via a D-link usb hub and camera connection kit but I have no sound through the headphones or outputs of the Versaport. Is there a step I'm missing. Latest traktor update with ipad 2.

 

Can you post screen grabs of your audio setup..?

Despite Pesict stating that the Versaport works (not saying that it doesn't), have you ascertained that it is Class Compliant. I did not see this on the American Audio website or manual PDF (i just checked).

 

I don't have any screen shots but I'll try and get some.
How I have it setup is: ipad2 --> camera connection kit --> USB hub
Versaport plugged into USB hub --> channel 1 of versaport into channel 1 of mixer, channel 2 of versaport into channel 2 of mixer. Mixer into receiver. I have the headphone plugged into my mixer. No sound or no levels showing up on mixer.

 

Could you share how you got this to work? I'd really like to use mine but so far no luck

 

Simple - grab your apple camera connection kit, plug the usb cable to it, connect that to the iPad and start TDJ.

I'm not sure if that interface needs more power than the iPad could deliver.
If nothing happens you'll need a powered usb hub between the connection kit and the interface.

Let me test this setup tonight, and i'll post it right here...

I have an Intimidation Touch DVS souncard but from memory and confirmed on their forum this is just their branding on an AAVP soundcard (they directed me to the versaport website when I needed updated drivers).

So powered USB hub into official apple cck and then the AAVP usb connection into the hub. Check 1 that the soundcard red 'on' light appears.

Check 2 - New option appears under the settings cog in traktor which is not there unless souncard is connected, think its something like external mixer mode. Select on option.

You then get to confirm/amend default sound channel out options as in a normal dvs set up with left channel going to 1 & 2 and right channel to 3 & 4.

Now my mixer is broken (another story) but I tested the L & R soundcard outputs into two separate inouts on my amp and heh presto it works.

 

Just been to a mates house and tested it through a mixer and yes works, vol is extremly low though so make sure you crank up the volumes on the app, mixer and amp, so low that my mate didn't think it was working at first so that's yer check 3.

 

I have the soundcard connected that way powered by the hub via official apple camera connection. The red light on the Versaport is on. When I load traktor the external mixer mode is there and output 1/2 is connected to channel 1 on my mixer, output 3/4 into channel 2. I cranked all volume controls but still have no sound. When I turn the master volume knob on then mixer I can hear th static increase and decrease, which would mean its communicating. No sound levels show up on my mixer and I do not hear anything through the headphones either. My mixer is an Ecler NU02. Any ideas?

I'm currently on the look out for a soundcard compatible with Traktor DJ with a digital optical/toslink out.
Does anyone know of a suitable card? I was looking at the ESI U24 XL, would this work attached to a powered hub?

I have an RME Fireface UCX and it works with Traktor DJ.

I can choose the outputs for the main mix and for the headphones... however, the main mix is always on the headphones, even when i cue the other track... any ideas why?

By the way, is anyone using the traktor DJ app live?

I am new to Djing and this would be a great affordable way to start learning and doing some small gigs before robing a bank to get a proper midi controller and Traktor pro...

Yes I have djd live using the app, a USB hub and external dj mixer. Of course using the screen can be an issue but I coped ok. I also use it now with s2mk2. If u have 400 I can't express how well it goes with the app. With the s2 u get full traktor pro2 for pc. I don't bother and just use the ipad app so easy and intuitive.

 

So you only use the app to "play" the tracks but control it with the external dj mixer or s2mk2?

 

If u use an external sound card that enables u to use app to play tracks as you suggest but u can use a normal mixer to cross fade, adjust volume and most importantly pre cue. All other functions such as track selection, effects and even getting the track to play are via the app.
The s2 gives you full functionality over the app every feature and has a built in sound card and mixer while also unlocking a few features of the app that can only be used with the s2 such as effects daisy chain and quick loop adjusts.

 

Hi i have a U24XL from ESI, it use to work with IOS 7 but now it does not work with TDJ1.6 IOS8, from the NI support they tell me that they can be responsable for other products not working with TDJ on IOS8, regarding their own product Audio 2 for example that does not work, my question is does somebody knows is IOS8 changed anything about with class compliant soundcards? ...

Pd. Other apps work just find with the soundcard, TDJ is the only one with problems

 

I'm using TDJ 12.6 with IOS 8 and my Traktor Scratch A6 works fine still. I did a lot of research and testing before deciding this was the best Audio Interface to get - as well using a genuine Apple Camera kit is very important.

 

Thanks for the answer, i also did a research about this soundcard, and my camara connection is apple original, still not solving my problem, you mean I should not use this las TDJ update?
