Traktor DJ & iOS7

I only ever refer to the public versions. I don't speak about beta builds on the forum.

The app is stable on iOS7 as stated in the NI email but metadata sync is not yet enabled. Work is ongoing but that does not mean that other development and bug fixing has stopped. It simply isn't the case that all the devs drop what they are working on and fix one issue.
Bug fixes and app stability is important, just as important as any feature.

I would just ask users to be patient. NI would not have disabled the feature had it been working properly and it is better to have it disabled than have a broken feature causing issues.

thanks Karlos, just to clarify, version 1.3.1.303 is stable and reliable on ios7, ok?

 

I did two 1 hour sets with Traktor 1.3.1 on an iPad 2 with iOS7 and the Z1 over the weekend. No stability issues whatsoever.

I've re-read this thread and noticed comment about an email/message from NI regarding IOS7 now stable. I got original email saying not to update but nothing official since. Not sure why but I can't see anything on the forum officially. Also there are conflicting reports from other forum users whether app is stable or whether its just using it with an s2mk2 (there are bad reports about gain issues elsewhere on the forum). Similar to when the traktordj forum started there were official statements from NI about which official sound cards to use etc can you put something out on here please, even if just copies of the emails you sent for those that didn't get them?

I'm wondering the same. I haven't heard any updates, and I'd really like to know where we stand with this as of now. My old S4 stopped working and I need to buy a new one. I need to know if I should plan to get the S4mk2 or repair my old S4 in the next few weeks, and along with that this iOS sync thing is driving me crazy. My commute on the DC metro is when I get most of my prep work done and this is killing me!

So is the app working with iOS7? I am getting a new iPad Air so downgrading to iOS 6 is impossible for me.. Controller functionality is of no concern for me ATM.

 

Yes, the app works solidly. Still missing the metadata sync that was removed.

 

I tested it last friday with 7.0.4 and Traktor Kontrol S2 latest firmware and it wasn't working. Got stuck after 4 tracks.

 

My version seems to be fine with ios 7.0.4

 

Is it supposed to be working perfect with iOS7 now? I have found a few issues.
When touching on a wave to pause it momentarily, it's not as smooth/fluid as it was was originally in iOS6 (seems like a very small latency). Also if I have 2 tracks sync'd and I scroll one of the tracks back and forth rapidly, it drops out of sync.
The graphics seem a bit glitchy sometimes too and there are pauses when I switch out of the app, which never used to happen.

Hope there are fixes coming, whether it be iOS or Traktor DJ that is the problem.

 

Got the iPad Air and installed Traktor on it. Seems to work beautifully on iOS 7.0.4! The app is so good I don't even need a controller to mix - kudos to NI!

I guess you aren't using any soundcard just the iPad Air with the internal D/A converter. From my experience when using an external soundcard like Audio 2 mk2, there is a lot of issues working with iOS7. Waiting for a major fix

yes, only the internal sound so far. I have a Z2 but have not tested the app with it (still need to get me the camera connection kit). Holding off from further HW investments due to the ongoing issues with iOS compatibility.. Hope they get your probs sorted quickly!

Just noticed that there's no ALAC support on the app? which is a bit of a bummer...
