Yeah thats it! Actually has more to do with my scarry looks [pictures of me get used to scare small planets into submission] than dual identities.

OK, I've got an important question about T3. Do you know the status of T3 as a universal binary on OS X (that is, will it run on an Intel mac when they come out). I'm asking this because there is a remote possibility that we could see one tomorrow (10/19) and if we do, I sure would like to be able to drop some cash on one...

Ugh, that's not what I was hoping for. NI needs to get an Intel on X development kit...

Why do you want to get the first gen hardware anyway....? I've got a friend that works for Apple and even he is gonna wait till second revision to get one.

Yeah the initial reports are not particularly encouraging. If I was NI I would not be moving too fast to get Traktor on an iMac ;) Besides they need Stanton to do scratch AMP drivers first...

Point well taken. However, I've been waiting to update my 1GHz PB G4 and if it was a super thin Intel PowerBook, I just don't think I could contain myself any longer. As far as your friend, just because he works for Apple doesn't mean he's got any inside info, but that's neither here nor there.

I'm not so sure where you're getting your info from, especially since the laptop line is almost certainly going to be the first candidate for the Intel chips. As far as the SA drivers, that's all the more reason that I'm damn glad I ditched FS two weeks after I got it. But that brings up another point--PLEASE god tell me we're not going to start having this kind of blame game now that FS and Traktor are one product and Stanton is back in the mix...

@GMINT, I can't say without getting someone in trouble, (I've been there done that its not pretty not going there again) Nuff said save for the fact I trust my source.

Blame Game? No not going there either... its totally unproductive and provides no value .

FS and Traktor One product? I don't follow your line of thought it runs counter to the current situation ... they are independent apps but with similar roots, not a can of worms I want to open here.

    Phil -

Are you still using the same beta version or have they updated you as bugs/fixes come up?

Would you use TDJ3 as is, in a live application?

    Thanks - D

I'm saying that effectively Traktor is now the operating system for both strictly laptop DJs as well as those using FS. My concern is this: since the FS drivers are now a part of Traktor, I can see NI saying, "we can't release Traktor (or we want to wait) until new drivers are done, and oh by the way, that's Stanton's gig, so we're waiting on them". Conversely, I can see the same thing happening the other way. Stanton says, "well we've had new FS drivers ready to go for months now, but NI won't release them".

I am pre-judging to an extent here, but I just don't know well NI will play with others...

No we get regular updated betas with fixes, got one today, no y'all can't have a copy! ;-)

Yes and I did already! Played last weekends radio show on it, ask Nem0nic he was there! ;) 3 decks and sampler no less. worked pretty well. Will probably use it again this weekend too.

A few things are being worked on but I Will / can say more than that. Things are coming together nicely.

Thanks Phil. That gives me the hope to jump into v3.

I've had great success with Traktor. I'm using 2.6.2 live 2-3 times a week. I have issues, occasional stutters and drops - but overall, my performance quality is up. I mix tighter at parties, I play more requests, I spend more times with guests at weddings. Yeah- I'll take 90% stability... I'd love, shout, dance, with it at 100%.

And regardless of how good any program is- I have my old rig on standby- cd players loaded.

I Also find comfort with names like Allan & Heath, and Beatport associating themselves with the Product. Too much negative noise to these companies may help leverage faster fixes for us.

For those of you upset with traktor... feel like you wasted your money... upset at features, stability, and support... try PCDJ. I started my change over from disc to digital on Red and will never go back.

    Hey PhiL,

Just a quick question. Is there going to be a downloadable upgrade or should I just purchase my copy from the NI store (which I noticed is now listing T3 for sale--with a release date of November 25th)?

There will be a downloadable update for sale on the site. If you own a copy already, don't buy a full copy from the store only to have to return it and get the update online.
