    Spotted this article about Traktor 3 (& 2 ) at FutureMusic.

    I think the writer has no clue at all about Traktor 2, he's saying it's no good. Aren't these the same people that banned Traktor from a DJ competition a year ago?

    Regardless, a few good points and an interesting read.

    BTW I've spotted quite a few posts in various forums indicating people are quite interested in Traktor 3, and not so many of the usual vinyl fanatics claiming heresy. Could this be the turning point?

    Err.. I think he's definitely been using a different version of traktor to me.. sound clipping? instability? I've been using Traktor since v1, and although I'll be looking forward to using 4 decks, there's nothing else really major that I would change about v2 - OK I know a lot of people have had their share of problems (from what I've seen mainly on Macs) but I've been lucky in that it's run without a hitch for me since day 1 (well ok, day 5, if we're going to be pedantic since my v2 arrived 5 days after the release date :s ).

    I never worried about any effects and things like that cos my mixer chews sound up in just about any way I want it to, so all I use traktor for is like a double CD player (albeit with really good looping)... ok not the most demanding use, but I'm sure there's quite a few users who use it in the same way as me... I am really excited about having 4 decks, but I havn't worked out how that's going to work yet... I only have a 5.1 sound card and a 2 channel mixer :(

    Ditch the old mixer and use a MIDI controller/mixer instead!

    TRAKTOR DJ STUDIO 3 Demo version.

    I got a message back from Friedemann who explains that a Demo version for Traktor 3 will be available in early December. This will be for the patch version 3.0.1. Release 3.0.0 (due for release on Friday Nov 25) will NOT have an accompanying demo version avaiable at that time.

    No hard date is available yet for the patch release, but work is underway in earnest for it.

    Well, I do not not share this sentiment - I have been DJing w/ Traktor at a club with a *very* nice sound system - and the sound engineer has never ever complained about my laptop (except for the ground loop the very first time I plugged it in).

    He his an evangelist against MP3s (I would be, too, if all I had was 128k or lower), but gave his "thumbs up" anyway. And he *is* picky about the way "his" club sounds.

    @AudioRapture:

    That's what all good sound engineers are like... picky.

    And IMO opinion that playing the MP3s through my Pioner DJM300 'colours' the sound in a way that I find 'better' than Traktor 2.6.2 internal mixer. All audio equipment, mixers, drivers, amps etc... colour music... sometimes is a way that is liked, partially liked, and not liked... when it's a not it's called distortion. ;)

    T3 will be better as it tries to emulate the way that different Mixers colour the music. And that my point, it's niether wrong or right, just an opinion.
