Traktor DJ v1.6 update woes

Ok, I have been on this forum for a long time. Never posted anything. I use traktor on my laptop but ever since the app came out I've been all over it. I use my iPad and a s4 mk2. Love it. Wish it did a lot more but yeah love it so much I'm still on iOS 6.1.3 because Im scared to update because of all the problems.

Today I updated to the new version just released v 1.6

Guess what..... the app won't even open. Done everything possible on the iPad. THE APP CRASHES EVERY SINGLE TIME.

First when might I be able to DJ again..........

Secondly can someone with an iPad 3 and iOS 7 or iOS 8 please respond about performance.

This is unacceptable. No drop box, yeah crummy but at least the app still worked. I have a useless piece of equipment now and guess what the update on my iPhone 6 plus running 8.0.2 works perfectly fine.


A lot of people on here complain about things that are 100% valid and should be addressed by native instruments but now the fact that the app will not open is something that needs to be handled immediately.

 

Same here. iPad2 with iOs6; S2 MKII - everything was great and smooth until this update. (and yes, I was worried about performance issues on iOs7/8 too, that's why I never upgraded)
This is my main equipment for work, I never wanna go back to my laptop... this setup seemed really reliable until today...
It's not even opening.

 

it opens on iPad Air but the AUDIO2 issue is STILL NOT FIXED! this is what NI gives us for our money? really nice thanks for nothing

 

It opens on my IPad 3 with iOS 7.1.2 but I don't have an Audio 2 card.

 

I'm running iPad Air with 8.0.1 works fine spent an hour mixing last night, easy to export to Dropbox. Not tried Audio 2 card may do later.

 

Same here ipad 3 use an s2mk2 so never upgraded past ios6 and mid mix preparation for a set now app won't open. I'm getting fed up with a lack of proper testing NI. Thanks a bunch you moan about too many android versions but can't even cope with a few iOS set ups. Saw you advertising jobs recently proper SIT would be one.

 

I use a 3rd generation iPad with iOS version 7.1.2 and I can confirm the app opens and runs fine. I cannot verify if the hardware works with it however.

 

On compatibility (app store), they wrote iOs6 - that's why the system let me install -, but on the app details they wrote iOs7.0 minimum.
I guess, that's the problem. And I guess, I can't go back to the previous, stable version (until my ios6 can't install the newer one and offer me to download a previous version). I don't care about dropbox or any of these things, just want my decks back.
(and I'm afraid to upgrade to iOs8, btw.)

 

Can at least someone from NI come back to us on this? I like the fact that when the update appears it says these are the following things the update will do/bug fix. We end up as users with a new bug list that wasn't there before. No comment on the loss of ability to share cue point, no update on adio 2 no longer working, never any comment.

If I now have to update my ipad and lose any of my cue pints on over 500 tracks ill be pissed but if I find out my s2mk2 doesn't work ill be selling it and moving to serato.

 

@Zenit Incompatible ; where does it say iOS7 min. I could not find that. I just see iOS6.
I'll ask about this issue.

Regardless of any actual requirements, audio veterans know to keep their hardware, software and OS in sync: If something works, you'll have to make a big calculation to keep things working. The way this works is to never upgrade any part of your setup too soon: Wait for bugs to work out.

CONSEQUENTIALLY: You should never wait for too long to upgrade just a single piece of the equation. The latest upgrade of one piece is more likely to work with the latest upgrade of the other piece. In this case: If you upgrade to TDJ 1.6, expect it to work BEST with the latest OS.

That's really odd because my iPad, iPhone and Mac App Store all state iOS6 on the Detail section.
Are you in the US Appstore or UK or..?

Maybe there's a regional difference in the store details.

NI probably should have made it impossible to update the software if you were still on iOS6, yes.

 

UK, IPAD VERSION but IPHONE version says the same.

 

How odd. I still see iOS6 (UK Appstore). You are still on iOS6 but I don'y understand why the store details would be different. My iPhone is iOS8 and my iPad is iOS7 and both state 'Requires iOS6' in 'Details'.

 

Karlos yes this is there but point was it differs to what it says later which was the problem Zenit pointed out, its not compatible with ios6 as its says later only ios7. Either way as we've established it doesn't work on ios6
