Traktor DJ wishlist?

The app is already almost perfect! But having sync over wifi would be a blast.
So my number one in wishlist for app apdate is:
WIST

 

Nr. 2 — naming for cue points
Nr. 3 — load only in stopped deck
Nr. 4 — longer press on play button to stop

 

My most wanted feature should be a pretty simple one: a way to turn off harmonic mixing. Maybe a button somewhere that toggled it on/off. I know traktor is not a turntable emulation(which I'm greatful for), but this seemingly simple feature would let traktor act as a turntable a bit more if one needed it.

*Tempo analysis is working, but beat grid alignment is often not perfect. I know it can be adjusted under the sync settings. It is currently somewhat fiddly and therefore a bit time consuming, my opinion.
=It would be most useful to somehow get pitch bend buttons in the front of the GUI for quick beat alignment. In fact, this is one of the main features a DJ uses when preparing a mix.

*Loading only in to a deck that is not running should be default

*Saved loops nothing more than a green cue point. There is no apparent way to in advance activate the loop function so that when the locator passes a saved loop point looping actually kicks in.
=This could be achieved by displaying saved loop points in faint green, and perhaps by pressing longer on the loop button to activate the next approaching loop and lit it up in bright green, like they currently are.

*Support for other class compliant USB audio interfaces would be much appreciated

*The possibility to manually alter a track's BPM.
I've got a few tracks that have not been analyzed properly, and these can simply not be used in Traktor DJ at the moment.

*It would be good to have the option of two parallel rows on the right hand side, allowing for a longer crossfader and additional buttons such as pitch bend.
In the same way Traktor Pro is modular in that sense you can choose to display or hide some panels. Implementing it with that approach and there would not be necessary for NI to alter with the default design, but to allow more functions to be at hand for those who want it.

*For purpose of track preparation, a track preparation mode would be cool. This could displaying a single deck with the possibility to edit mp3 tags etc.

Overall, it's very much a fun tool/toy to use

Also would like midi support ... Wouldn't be too hard to drop TSI files into Dropbox for controllers.

We would need Traktor Controller Editor updated to push out the TSI files.

 

A "played" state indicator, either a little checkmark like in TPro or just colored like in rekordbox/cdj 2000

 

Flash whole stripe in last 30 seconds of track.

-Time elapsed/remaining on iPhone
-Coloured/Named cue points
-Played state
-Star Rating
-Comments
-Sort tracks by date added to device
-Option in settings for CUE/CUP
-Add option for different waveform colour
-Longer time running out flashing up to 90 sec
-Prevent loading in to playing deck

I use a intelligent iTunes PL that is sorted by date added (added to collection, not to the device, tho)

 

Yeah I've started creating a new playlist just called the date of the import so my new tracks are easy to find.

Would be great if it could all be done in TDJ itself though.

 

Syncing

I want syncing with:

Traktor pro,
midi,
wist,
audiobus.

 

Firstly I've got to say I LOVE Traktor DJ! I moved to rekordbox a year or so ago but have found I don't have the time for track preparation. Having this on the iPad is awesome as I can do whilst commuting. I got a Z1 and it is great for practising mixes on.

My wish list would be:

- Cue point types (load, grid, hot cue, loop etc.)
- midi (guessing unlikely in short term as would compete with Traktor pro sales)
- if no midi support then kontrol x1 support so tracks can be triggered without touching the iPad
- ability to upload recorded mixes to dropbox

 

+1 We need to be able to set Load Markers but grid are automatically applied to all tracks in Traktor DJ.

Yeah that would be nice but you can use the Z1's Cue buttons as Play/Pause buttons (its in the manual).

You can do that. They will be in the Documents section in iTunes. This should be described in the Notification Centre.

cuepoint row that doesnt disappear when loading a new track

Oops I must have missed that...I did try to read it for once, honest! Quality, for basic mixing (which is 90% of what I do...) DJ and the Z1 ROCK. Loop cue points would be good, I'm nervous about touching a playing track to set one...although I appreciate there is the loop button as well.

Re Dropbox I was thinking more the ability to upload from within the app itself but this may be an ios limitation.

 

You can already add loop Cue Points. Just add a Cue Point while in a active loop.

I think that's because it only triggers play/pause on traktor pro and is not intended to work that way for traktor dj....
