Traktor DJ wishlist?

I'm using Traktor DJ on an iPad mini with a Z1 or the Audio 2 MKII. Few suggestions for NI to help Z1 users:

- When we plug in the Z1, make the x-fader disappear to save screen space
- Deactivate the EQ/Filter window, I have the Z1 to look at, don't need to accidentally hit the button and have it open

General suggestions for Traktor DJ (some of these have already been mentioned, but whatever)

- Only give "suggested" tracks for the playlist I'm in
- Mark songs already played in another color/ check marked
- Loop points that are storable
- Beat grid analysis that read varied tempos and allows users better adjustments (similar to Rekordbox, ie I can align a grid to a track that goes from 130 - 173 bpm)

Dream Features (that would kick ass)
- Advanced HID support for CDJs via usb and CDJ datalink
- Control Vinyl capable

 

I would like to see in the future the FX menu such as in traktor pro. use the menu is not very convenient because I can not exactly set the effect parameters.

 

track history would be a lifesaver for me. i use the app to prep set lists and to riff on oddball stuff. sometimes i write the tracks down in notepad, sometimes i don't. inevitably, i wish i had a track history because i stumble across some amazing combos but i drank too much in college so i have no short term memory...

 

Track history is now available for recorded sets.

in controller mode only waves and browser that's what we need
waves responding to gain control
easy search ,bigger browser simple playlist options
auto gain
side list ( preparation list on the fly )
changeable font size as well
new interface
custom buttons

Why all this ?

gain knob control,waves should be changing on volume when rotating some songs are quieter recorded
( Older songs)so than you can't see waves properly ; ( they are so tiny ) that need fixing !
auto gain 0db should be done properly ( same volume level ) seen many dj complaining about that especially running in 4 decks mode .
bigger browser easy library it's very important for dj's example in ( serato /Virtual dj )skin midnight blue is perfect layout 70% of browser and the ( side list ) witch i have seen on virtual dj 8 very good feature Preparation list on the fly .
side list is good for dj's who read the crowd : you got them dancing and you have vision in your head of songs what should you play now ,to keep party going ,that vision you translate to the side list really good thing
changeable font size as well !
better beat griding !
just keep it simple what dj 's need on the screen is big waves big browser and good playlist options, that option gives to dj concentrate more on the controller. the more dj using controller the more dj enjoy to play with it music,program etc
That things put me away from traktor ( small browser, search engine, preparation list just keep it simple )

virtual dj has bad default skin on the first place (the reason for that is too much going on the screen the more you look on the screen the less dj's enjoy ) but good thing is that virtual dj has changeable skin wich is a good thing.
if you change to midnight blue skin ,in controller mode give's you only waves and browser that's what we need !
weather you gonna use for turantable or controller it feels more professional.
the more simple the better is, that's why serato keept it that way they know what they doing.
Nothing but wave and browser in controller mode.

Personaly I like traktor would like to see change in the new version,can't wait for new traktor

If it had these things I would most likely be using traktor forever .

Nono, not what I'm saying at all, of course people are free to ask for whatever, I was imply alluding to the fact that "you get what you pay for", and to not expect the world for nine dollars. I would love to get a lot more features out of the Traktor DJ release cycle, but I won't be surprised or upset if I don't.

 

Demanding it's good, they know how to build the software ,we know what missing in the software everything you find missing put it down on wish list = we all want better software don't we ?

I keep wondering why NI does not make it possible to use Z1 + X1 + F1 all at once with TDJ.
They could do something like a "NI iOS Hub", and sell it for 29.99$ + in-app purchases for F1 and X1 support.
I don't know how you guys feel, but I would kill for this.

The combination of those 3 products IS the smallest DJ Setup available on the market.
Would be MUCH smaller if I could use 'em with my iPad instead of my Laptop.

 

-Used tracks per session in different colors
- Allow different size loops per song, not just the default size for all
- realistic scratching
- 4 decks!!!! it could be difficult but at least make it optional between 2-4
- Tempo adjusters for individual tracks
- Filter fade ffects and the one for traktor software that allows the reverb/echo effect (not sure what its called, just saw it yesterday and its great for fading tracks

 

In preference order...

1.) Ability to assign FX banks to either and/or both channel(s)
2.) Ability to nudge S2/S4 jogs WITH keylock enabled
3.) Controller specific UI, preferably left/right config
4.) Played tracks indicator
5.) Recomendation engine by playlist
6.) Option to remove BPM display

 

I have just got this down in my head: just imagine the future integration of TSP to the iPad (TDJ) - a second screen with the remix decks section - with the ability of live editing of samples (some reactor or massive'alike tool that lets you easily change the sound - and you get a truly live integration to your mix or you just can get crazy with the remix decks. Or we can go further - imagine that you have 2 iPads and you could sync them and bring the remix decks section to your second iPad... And ofc there should be a whole lot of in app purchase tools for sound editing....

 

While I do think I paid more than 9.99$ - for the app back when it was released, I did do something I would not have done without buying the app: I purchased a 229$ Z1. And once I stop using the iPad app, I see no real use case for the Z1.

It's the same with Apple hardware: I pay a lot for it, but I expect the operating system to be flawless – even if it's free. I pay the software development with a share of my hardware purchase.

 

Great app, bought a iPad Mini Retine 128GB just for this. Always fun to mix at a party. Using Traktor Pro for the real gigs I would like to see:

- Spectrum type wave preview
- Import database analytics fro Pro to prevent analyzing each track again on iOS (it's sloooooooooooowwwwww)
- Beats to Cue display
- Different Key notation
- Key filter
- Quicker way to set beats per loop

 

I love your bullets 2-5, also the prefered order but what's the idea behind 1 and 6 ?

1 - So you can have an independent dry/wet control. At the moment you're stuck with one dry/wet level if you combine effects. Being able to assign means I can have 50% Reverb on one bank and 25% Delay on the other both assigned to the same channel.

6 - I like to beat match manually, having the BPM display makes me cheat!

Strategically placed elastic bands are my current weapon of choice!

With the never-ending sync/no sync debate that rages on, I'm surprised it's not a default option for all DJ software. However, Traktor Pro and DJ Player are the only ones I've found that give you this option.
