I had this issue too only a small number in the archive. Its a crash causing bug. I also has the same thing happen when trying to open a folder in explorer node. 2.6.8 no issues.

    Hello everyone
I suffered from the same problem with the same specs ....
what I did is downgrade from backup version (2.7.1), and went back to 7.2.3 .... it solved my problem! ... Try, maybe it will solve for you as well ...

Funnily enough i have also come across this issue, its really the first time i have had an issue with traktor after all these years, Guess i should count myself lucky. Removing some of the files so as to make there be only a few does not sort this issue, i am sure it must be a bug of sorts. Guess its just now waiting for the next update as far as i can see.

For those that have this issue. It would be great if you could test it out on 2.7.4 beta. and report on the thread. The problem is still there for me but to me NI does not think this is a software issue and instead blames the users files, or computer setup.

I believe this is a software issue as i do not have this issue on 2.6.8 Support says they can't duplicate it. It think they just did not test enough. So i am ask for your help to get this issue resolved in future releases of traktor.

i don't have the issue on 2.7.4 but the only think i don't like is that it writes tags when i click on a history file

it also still writes tags when removing duplicates from a play list or just removing files from a play list .

seeing this stuff is still there in 2.7.4, shouldn't we point the developers watching the beta forum to the posts we've been discussing that?

I think one if the biggest reasons why the have major bugs is that NI ignores user reported problems. Both support and the moderator rarely seem to take our finding seriously. Tons of examples of this. The issue with the explorer node/Archive crash is just one example.

This was an issue reported on 2.7.2 Even after reporting it on the 2.7.4 beta it seem they still think is my files and not a true software issue. Ever notice that is rare for a moderator to report or confirm a software bug? Instead they take the opposite stance looking for anything else but NI as the cause of the problem.

Its great they are doing beta releases with us but look how 2.7.2 beta went..

Moderators...here is good topic where you can help and chime in...with any helpful feedback.

This freezing issue is weird, it sure has to do with 2.7.4 copying the archive files over... if you delete the files and start fresh then play a set and as traktor saves them once closed the problem is not there with archives created in 2,7,4. however if you copy the archive files from a previous version then it freezes, though it does not happen to everyone, its hit and miss on the various macs i have tried, some have it some don't, somewhere there is a conflict and its not a issue with the file, cause if i copy that file into an early version it reads it 100% with no freeze.

I have exactly the same problem! In 6 years of using traktor it's the first time I have serious and hardcore problems...!
In 15 days happened 2 times exactly the same way:
After a 3 hours playing, when I'm loading a music from a playlist to Deck B the rainbow circle start to spin and it's impossible to do anything else!
The music that was playing (fortunately) keeps playing but you can't do anything else on Traktor. The only way it's to press the Power Button pressed for a while and make an Hard Power Off!!! Not even "Force Quit" Traktor Works!!!

    My Setup it's:
    • Traktor 2.7.3 (R935)
    • Yosemite 10.10.3 (14D131)
    • MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009); CPU: 2,8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo; 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3; NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
    • 2x X1 (cause I use 4 Decks)
    • USB Direct Connect to a Pioneer DJM 850
This is clearly a BUG/Compatibility Issue with Traktor and Yosemite that need urgently to be fixed by Native Instruments!

Does anyone received an official response/solution from NI?

As you can imagine since the first time that I have ZERO confidence on the stability of Traktor and that it's really BAD.
Now I always have to have 2x CDJ with PENs for Backup and have time to Power OFF and ON Traktor....!

Hi, I got this from NI Support and solved:

"I would suggest using Traktor 2.6.8 currently, since the last 3 2.7.X version all
    had various issues unfortunatly.

If you had Traktor 2.6.8 installed previously, you can still start this version
from the Backup folder on your harddisk.

    • open your "Finder"

    • go to: Applications -> Native Instruments -> Traktor 2 -> Backup

    • start the Traktor 2.6.8 from this folder

If you do not find a Traktor 2.6.8 application in the backup folder, you can
download the Traktor 2.6.8 installer from the link below and use this installer to
    downgrade from 2.7.3 to 2.6.8:

    Traktor Pro 2.6.8 MAC Installer

    http://tinyurl.com/n8jk9ud

    • disconnect ALL NI USB devices

    • download & install Traktor 2.6.8

    • restart your Mac

    • reconnect your NI usb devices

    • start Traktor 2.6.8"

    Cheers
