How many files is in the History folder in your user folder? Try deleting some files there, when having more then 2000 files there it will cause the hang...

this has happened to me as well, v2.7.3. i don't have 2000+ history files there, i've got them sorted in folders. it shouldn't happen, IMO, this needs to be adressed.

I was also able to reproduce this issue on 2.7.3..which results in a full crash.. it seems very similar to the explore node issue that i also seen causing a crash. i have less than 100 files in my history ..number of history file should not matter though. Yet another bug that causes a user to crash and burn.

based on my testing 2.6.8 does not have this problem.

If you had a crash then upload the crashlog to this thread.

where do i find the crash logs? I have opened a a few support tickets in the past and normally the ask for the support tool results but i have never been asked to submit a crash log and not sure where to find it or what it contains.

yes normally they send you the support tool but you can manually find them and maybe make a zip of it and attach it here. you can find them here:
~/library/Logs/DiagnosticReports they should be named like this

Traktor_2015-02-10-112842_MacBook-Pro.crash where the date is different of course

easiest to do is when you have finder open press CMD + SHIFT + G and then copy and paste ~/library/Logs/DiagnosticReports

    Thanks for the info.

I could not find the .crash file the matches the date of the issue. There is a .hang file.

Not sure what will actually trigger a crash log. With the History file what happens is the traktor will say please wait while load. The rainbow ball will appear and traktor will become totally unresponsive. Traktor does not shut it self down. I than have to manually shut it down with a force quit (application not Responding.)

When i do the force quit a problem report is created with some data in it to send to apple. The info looks to be the same info in the hang file.

Can you check your memory usage of the Traktor app when this happens in Activity monitor...you can attach the hang file also

But usually hanglogs are pretty much useless but maybe it gives a hint ;)

i've seen traktor consistently hangs when i request to open a second history playlist while the first one is still "struggling" to show its content.

i think this can be related to some kind of comparison that is being performed on the background, between the history playlist data for each file with, maybe, the current data for these songs, or maybe, the collection data for these songs. probably, in order to write who-knows-what data to these files.

i don't understand in the first place, why potentially old information gathered from a history playlist should be written in files.

in my case, due to that, many, many songs have their key text overwritten, some lose their stripe, and some appear unlocked with a rounded tempo...

this generates a tiresome and time consuming situation where i find myself struggling at least one afternoon per week, to watch over unwanted changes in my files, and to keep/restore the data i want to have in my files, against that ghostly traktor will to write its own stuff over mine.

not to mention, the danger it currently represents to access a history playlist while playing live in front of a partying crowd, of course.
