I upgraded from TSP to TSP2, so far so good. My issue, and this was before the software upgrade, is all this popping and snapping sounds I am hearing while a track is in play. And if I search for a track, whether it be during my typing or uploading, the track in play slows down a bit. So basically, while I am mixing, it sounds like a beat up old cassette tape. Could it be an issue with space on my laptop? I have 27 GB's left. I have no idea what could be wrong and it's been buggin for a minute!

I've checked the latency, and according to the Audio 8 Control panel there are no problems detected. This is what I am getting .....
    44100Hz - sample rate
    256 samples - process buffer
    2 ms - USB buffer

    I running on a...
Intel* core ™2 Dou CPU 2.00 GHz
    Memory(RAM) 3.00 GB
    System type: 32-bit operating system

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yeah, I tried all kinds of arrangements. But the problems still persists. I am wondering if this issue is related to my laptop verses some sort of configuration. But now my kontrol x1 wont turn on!

ah jeez, this problem is worse now!
I noticed that the CPU icon is on all red. Could this be the issue?

I am not sure if I can switch to 64bit so easy. I googled how to do that, looks like I need a disc from my pc maker, which I don't.

If by firmware you mean the latest update, I did just do that. Thanks for the advice! I had two updates available, downloaded both and installed them. It helped a little, but the snapping, crackling, and popping still persist!

Again, this issue was BEFORE I upgraded, but now that I did, I want to play with my new toy with no problems! So I am not blaming the upgrade for all this. I did check TSP1, and I noticed the cpu usage was a lot lower than when on TSP2, but the same problem occurred. I defragged my laptop and I know my hard drive is almost at capacity, but could this be related to RAM? if I buy more RAM, could this solve my issue?

Can I post a link with the audio of my issue, Like soundcloud?

if your HD is nearly full that will cause CPU issues, it did for me anyway.. i updated to a 500gb seagate and things are running so much smoother, i can play at lower latency (17.4 i think) and pull just as much CPU usage as i did with TSP1. And at that its stilll super responsive.

Sounds like youre already running your machine at its RAM capacity..? Is there room for more? it wouldnt hurt... I max at 2 gb RAM...

and im not 100% but i think T2 is optimized to run in 32 bit mode anyway..

Also are you running key lock? theres a setting in transport to run as slow CPU or HiQ, i chose slow..

This is on my Laptop, I do have an external HD, is it possible to hook each other up, playing it that way? I'm not sure how to tell if I am at ram capacity, but I've been looking into installing more memory, hopefully within the week. Not sure about the keylock, but I too chose the slow cpu option....still the same results. Here's an audio link of this issue I'm talking about, http://soundcloud.com/louismariano/2011-04-04-20h02m40
Thanks a lot tho, I appreciate your info a ton!

    hmm thats pretty bad...

i know my buddy runs his music library off an external HD and it works well.

by machine i was referring to your laptop sorry.

by RAM capacity, your computer can only handle a certain amount of RAM, you can check the tech specs online for instance, i got mine here - http://support.apple.com/kb/SP18. (my model if you want to compare specs - MB063LL/A) my macbook only supports a max of 2gb, so im at my max already.

i would try to address the computer issues that you were going to do already anyway.

Like i said, since i upgraded to the 500gb HD things have been running great...

The program needs some free space to stretch its legs so to speak, but then again it only says 500mb of free disk space required... so im not too sure...:S

Also i assume you've already played with the latency to see if that helps?

so i double checked my settings,
    im running 44100
    latency 512
    processing 11.6ms, output1.1ms, and overall 12.7

i still have room to go higher and still retain a tight response from the control vinyl.

    good luck!
