Traktor keeps skipping!

So im currently using Traktor LE as I am waiting for my traktor scratch to show up in the mail. So im just currently using one side of traktor so I can throw in a couple MP3's with my vinyl. My problem is that traktor keeps skipping the mp3's... It throws the entire mix off then. Anyone else have this problem? Its not like a constant skip... just one jolt and then it works fine...So Ill have my mp3 track and my vinyl all synced up running through my mixer...and then all of a sudden it just train wrecks... just throws the mix all off. I sure hope my traktor scratch pro doesnt do this...

Im using a Dell XPS M1530 Vista 32bit 4gb Ram, Intel Core Duo t8300 2.4 ghz.

Any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

I use Traktor Scratch Pro and I would say 5-10% of my mp3's will skip, primarily towards the end. I plan for at least one train wreck per set because of this. Playing the files on another computer, some songs play perfectly fine, while others skip at at the same places.

I'm thinking it's the files that are messed up, which means to fix the problem, you have to re-rip the song.

Anyone else have this issue? Hopefully I'm wrong and it can be fixed with a code update...

 

YEAH! I have it with traktor 3.4 exactly the same thing!

 

I'm having the same problems. It's quite audible and has thus far prevented me from using TP anywhere but my basement.

It's every single track for me. There's no predetermined times that the skipping occurs either (I will have a track skip on one part but I can go back and replay the same section of song and it won't skip).

I'm pretty sure it's not a syncing issue because it still skips when I just play a song with no syncing or master clock.

I have also tried:
Adjusting latency settings
Upping cache size (currently 256mb)
Turning off ALL background programs (including wi-fi)

Any ideas?

i bought a dell vostro 1510 12 months ago solely for the purposes of running traktor & ableton. it came loaded with vista home basic, 250gb hdd 2gb sdram and runs registered versions of both programmes.

since hooking it up to an audio kontrol 1 then thru a denon 4channel mixer, 2 weeks ago, traktor nows lags like it has a broken leg or skips or switches bpm - all without being touched.

if i load a 126bpm track in it'll switch itself down to say, 62bpm and won't mix with another 126bpm track.

i've not bothered to setup any of the controls on the audio kontrol 1 because i only bought it to split the out into the mixer.

anyone got clue?

 

I'm having the same problem. About one out of every 3-4 sets I do, I'll have the skipping problem to various degrees. Last Friday I did a two sets (a tag team with another DJ); during the first hour-long set, I had maybe 3 skips, during the 2nd set it was skipping every 5-10 minutes. I had the skipping problem a couple of times at my gig before that, but did not experience it for like the 4 gigs prior. I've adjusted the latency, turned off other programs (WLAN, etc), increased the cache, and I'm still getting the issue, sometimes severely. Other times, no problems all night. What the heck?

 

you always restart your notebook before a gig? have a look at your ram and cpu load. check if its getting maxed out during your sets.

 

UPDATE - I checked my latency, and it was somehow set back to low. After setting that higher AND upping my cache, I've (so far) had no problems. *whew!* Hopefully that takes care of it!

 

Can anyone help my traktor scratch pro is jumping and also wen am recording it asks me wat chanel to pick for recording that means only the one?, is there no way of choosing 2 as i like to do mash ups?, sorrry am all new to this comp and traktoe thing.

 

I have the same problem with TS pro 1.2.2 - 1.2.3 & 1.2.4
I used time machine tot set back to 1.2.1 and the problem is gone!
My question/report to traktor was not very helpfull.

 

was wondering if anyone has windows vista running there traktor scratch duo and also has there internet running at te same time. When i do it, the music skips. If anyone is able to run internet at the same time please let me know what your setting are. thanks

 

I suppose the very horrible thing in this case could be the Speedstepping, aswell as for audio and timecode problems in others.

The constant switching between operating frequencies and voltages can cause audio to drop out, pop, click or glitch.

 

I had a similar problem and it was the software I was ripping with at 5.10 minutes exactly a track would skip. Enlarging the buffer resolved.
