    Hi guys,

I've been reading a lot of threads about the s4 and
mostly the ones where people have troubles with Windows...
I've read that someone bought a NI Audio Interface to hook up
the S4 to the pc... I was wondering how did you link the whole thing up?
Which Audio Interface is the best?
Do you still keep all of the audio quality?
    And what about responsiveness?

I haven't really found a topic about this, so yeah I was wondering if somebody
    could answer my questions...

    Thanks in advance,

    ZesR

    1) depends on your budget
    2) depends on the SC
    3) depends on the SC

By hooking an external soundcard and assigning it in Traktor you use the S4 just as a controller, so it really depends on the soundcard you are buying (and your pc specs) as regards how low can you push latency and general audio quality (supposing you are using 320Kbps MP3 files or better)

There is also a new driver (which is still beta and only available directly from NI support) for the S4 sound card that seems to be helping the Windows users.

24bit means 240kps? or can it play 320kps clean.

does having a 24bit audio card mean it can only play 240kps well?
do i need a higher bit aduio card to play 320kps for it to sound well?

A 24bit audio card means the width of the data, which is resolved into sound, when the card converts the digital signal to an analog one (or vice versa) is 24 bit. CD quality sound only needs 16bit. This data width also has only an indirect relation to the bus transfer rate and the sample rate or bit rate of a sound file.

You've heard you can play a WAV file over Traktor right? A WAV file has a bitrate of 1411 kbit/s. So there is no problem playing 320kb MP3s with the S4 sound card. No worries dude!:)
