Using my Traktor Z2 mixer, I want to be able to mix my decks via timecode vinyl A and B as normal, but would love to set a map to be able to switch the vinyl control to decks C/D (but the audio routing still remain as the factory setting has it) so I can control additional decks or my remix decks by hand via timecode vinyl .

any workflow suggestions on how I should tackle this mapping idea?

I have custom midi mapped my Z2 to achieve this feature as I like to have vinyl control w/ the Remix Decks C & D at any point while A & B switches to Internal Playback Mode...

I have assigned this to the TRAKTOR MODE BUTTONS (TOP OF THE Z2 NEXT TO THE PHONO/LINE SWITCHES)

I have assigned the SHIFT button as a Modifier=2 then by pressing the LEFT/RIGHT TRAKTOR MODE BUTTON this activates Decks C/D into Relative Mode correspondingly...

To switch back to Decks A/B to Relative mode, just press the REL/INT buttons normally and will change Decks C/D back to Internal Playback...

    Hope this helps!

    Peace & Love,

    Ollie

I've attached a screenshot of my Controller Settings.
    For my example:
    1. I set Modifier 2 =1 as the SHIFT button on the Z2 (Click Add In, choose Modifier #2 , Click the Learn button then press Shift on the Z2, Change Interaction Mode to HOLD, Set Value to 1)

    2. To assign Deck D for Scratch Control (Click Add In, Choose Deck Common, Choose Timecode, Choose Playback Mode Int/Rel/Abs, Click Learn and press the D deck button on the Z2, Change Interaction Mode to DIRECT, Set Value to Relative Mode, Set Modifier Condition to M2 and Value to 1, Change Assignment to Deck D) *see attached screen shot*

    3. Make sure under Timecode Setup in the Settings, all decks are set to SCRATCH CONTROL NOT INTERNAL PLAYBACK.

    4. You can just click on Duplicate and change the settings for Deck C.

I ended up switching from the Traktor mode button to the D deck button, because it was closer to the shift button and it also made more sense to map it to the corresponding deck. So when you activate Deck D to Relative Mode, Deck B will automatically change to Internal Mode. By pressing Rel/Int on the Z2 to change Deck B back to Relative Mode, it will in turn change Deck D to Internal Mode.

Let me know if you have any questions...

    Hope this helps,

    Peace and Love,

    Ollie

How do you control the volume of C/D?
