..i'm sorry if I will be “too long”..but I must describe my problem from the start so that you can see what happened and what have i already tried to solve this problem..hope you can help…! ?
Yesterday I had gig with my friend in the club and I decided to record my set using Audacity! I was playing on 4 decks, using 2xFaderfox DX2 & Audio 8. Everything went well "till" my friend came..he was using just two decks and mouse!:) ..end than the problem “started”..every time he loaded new song in deck it was heard like very loud distortion! ?I thought that was maybe the cable.. I changed the cables and nothing! So I was wondering if Audacity is causing the problem.. I opened Audacity (because set was still recording) and again loud distortion! I closed Audacity(stop recording) and hoping the problem was now solved..but it wasn’t ..distortion was still here when he tried to load new song in deck! ..ok, he ended his “set” and we went home!

At home I wonted to hear my recorded set to hear/see if there is distortion present..and yes it was..but strange..because I didn’t hear it from the speakers in the club ! ?

Some things I tried at home:
    Audio 8:-reinstall drivers (drivers installed : 1.6.8)
    -change latency (I tried “million” combinations..and I left it at Usb:1ms, Audio:4ms)
    - change usb cable
    - change all audio cables
    Result : problem persist!
    Laptop:
-nothing, because is already step by step “ TPRO manual” optimised
    My config.: Lenovo N3000 200, Intel Dual core 1.86 Ghz, 4G RAM,XP PRO,SP 3!
When I was playing with my laptop at home I noticed that it takes “”a lot of time”” to load a song in to deck..that was never happened before! ?
The laptop/traktor/Audio 8 was working just fine 1 hour before gig because I was just doing some practice with new songs!
So my conclusion is..there must be something with laptop or traktor(I think),but I don’t how and what because I didn’t have this problem till now and I’m using this laptop for traktor for about 3 months
I must say that I’m using this laptop just for Traktor Pro and nothing else!
    Tnx! !

Sounds like something somewhere is set to phono when it should be set to line.. I would be checkiing levels in various places to narrow down the problem.

(There seem to have been a load of those lately, all with the Audio 8.. new driver with new bugs?)

try disabling your computers internal sound card. you can do so in your system devices menu. internal sound cards tend to conflict with external sound cards (audio 8 dj) when they are enabled at the same time.

That doesnt make much sense to be honest. Traktor will only see/use the Audio 8 . The internal soundcard will be bypassed.
