    Hello all,

I am trying to get my Hercules DJ Console MkII working with Traktor LE. I downloaded the latest drivers and software versions. In general the driver works: audio output is fine, ASIO driver allows for proper channel recognition in Ableton etc. I have also checked the Midi functions of the device using the Midi Monitor. As far as I could see, everything comes through perfectly.

However, Traktor LE does not recognize the MIDI functions of the console. Opening the settings menu, I can not see anything in the MIDI menu... no device to select at all.

I know that it would most probably work with XP and/or Vista, but I don´t want to switch back from W7 if I don´t have to. I really like it and everything else works which includes multitrack USB audio interface, a Edirol UA-25 and a Tascam US-1641. I don´t use these when having the Hercules console connected to the Laptop (Lenovo T400).

    Maybe someone can help me.

    Regards,
    Christian

Just in case I need to provide more information to allow for better assessment of my problem, please let know. By the way, the versions I am using:

    Traktor LE 3.3.2
Hercules DJ Console Series - 2009_HDJS_4 package

One more comment from the threadstarter:

I realized that my issue is pretty much the same as the one another user in this forum already described. However, he had the RMX version of the console - which does not seem to be supported by Traktor LE - wheras I have the MKII which comes with LE and is definitely supported.

Like you said, it probably has something to do with the fact that you are running Windows 7.

Have you tried using the Compatibility mode to let the software pretend your are running Windows XP ?

    - Right-click on the Traktor icon on the desktop
    - Select Properties
    - In the Compatibility tab, Enable Compatibility mode
    - Select Windows XP

Another thing: When you first launched Traktor, did you select the MK2 as the controller that you wanted to use (in the list of supported devices proposed)?

    Hello Chris,

Traktor 3 LE had a specific way to detect a MIDI controller (in Traktor LE installation, the end user had to connect the MIDI controller, and Traktor 3 LE captured a chain of character which could depend of the USB port, so that afterwards after changing the USB port, the DJ controller was no longer detected), so maybe Traktor LE has kept the same process.

If I were in your position, I would try the following process
    1) use an administrator account
    2) Uninstall Traktor LE
    3) Reboot your computer, and log with an administrator account
    4) Connect your DJ Console Mk2
    5) Install Traktor LE, and declare your DJ Console Mk2 as MIDI controller
    6) Always connect the Mk2 on the same USB port (or the same USB port of a hub) to use the Mk2 with Traktor LE on this computer.

    Good Luck

Yes, it was shown as supported device and I selected it. I will try the compatibility mode later. Hopefully this is something that is supported by the Home Premium version of W7.

I will also try reinstalling it but actually I did not change the USB port because it´s connected via my docking station which is something usually don´t change too often.

Thanks to both of you so far. Will come back with results.

    Regards,
    Christian
