Traktor LE - Numark Mixtrack Problem!

Laptop: HP Envy, 4GB RAM, Intel i7-Q820 1.73GHz, Windows 7 Pro x64
I have just bought Numark Mixtrack which came together with Traktor LE. I have installed Traktor LE but I cannot make it work with Mixtrack. Traktor LE does not even have configuration for Numark Mixtrack, it includes other Numark device models in the setup wizard (Omni, Stealth, Total, and Mixdeck)but not Mixtrack.
When I try to manually configure audio (and setup IDT High Definition Audio Codec (6 In, 4 Out) (WASAPI Shared)) the program stops responding, or otherwise if it does not stop and I try to play something - I cannot hear anything, or I can hear only what is played on B, but I cannot control from Mixtrack. When I try to quit the program it stops working and I cannot even end program using task manager.

That's odd but try something, go online, log in your NI account (https://www.native-instruments.com/?id=updates) , download the latest 1.2.6 Traktor LE Numark Edition version, then run the Wizard again.

 

I have the latest version of Traktor LE but it still is not working. I've tried Virtual DJ trial version and it worked...

 

Have you run the wizard in preference? First question "Are you using USB/firewire controller" you answered YES? And then there's no Mixtrack in the list?

Are you sur it's the Numark Edition of LE? If it's not the Numark Edition, the device might not be listed... if not listed It will not import the Mapping... no mapping = No nothing.

I'm getting a problem with my Mixtrack and Tracktor LE

the software installed and was set up ok...all buttons and the platters are working.

It's just that when I try to set a cue point it does not set exactly where i wanted it set;

to explain, I may position the "cursor" on a drum kick to set the cue point at the beginning of a bar, and the cue point immediately appears a little before or after the point in the waveform the "cursor" is at.

If I press play or stutter play, it plays from where the cue point was set, which is not where I wanted it in the first place.

Has anyone ever encountered this? is there a fix? there must be something I overlooked in the configuration.

Bear in mind I'm using the tracktorLE map for the mixtrack I got with the included cd as well.

 

it propably snaps to the beatgrid, you can't turn that off in le

 

It is Traktor LE version 1.2.6 (R8491) and there is no Numark Mixtrack in the list after I answer yes to "Are you using USB/firewire controller" question. As I said above, there are other Numark device models in the setup wizard (Omni, Stealth, Total, and Mixdeck)but not Mixtrack.

 

I just picked one up yesterday with mixed thoughts on it... seems very buggy with very important things (like loops randomly cutting to half size when they feel fit) -- but that's aside.

I already own Traktor Pro, so installing Traktor LE OVER pro seemed very counter-intuitive. I wish they would have done a better job at documenting, packaging for people who already have it installed.

Your initial problem sounds exactly like my initial problem. Did you download the first Traktor LE, or install it off the CD? You likely need to just reinstall Traktor from the CD it came with. After I installed the LE version from the Numark Disk (not the version from the interwebs), Traktor Pro was still up and active, and I had the MixTrack as an available option.

I hope you have better luck with it than I have -- I'm experiencing lots of random button triggers.

For others: Another thing I found misleading was the lack of Driver downloads, like you would use for most any other usb midi interface. Don't worry about drivers, just plug it in. It will show up as a "USB Midi Device" The LEDs won't naturally turn on unless some software is telling it to (i.e. Traktor midi out ON signal, Ableton Live clip active, etc)

I think I may have found a major source of the bugs. I was trying to remap the controller from scratch, and encountered the same errors. It just seemed like the outs were triggering ins -- and I am pretty sure that is exactly what was happening.

I have Midi Yoke installed as I use a lot of trickery with Ableton etc, and I think what was happening was it was sending the out signal on ALL midi devices, which in turn would register as a note on message to Midi Yoke 1 -- which of course sends it back to traktor.

Make sure after you load up the controller config, that you change the midi in/out to the generic midi device it creates...

I'll post back again if I find that this is also not the case, but so far it seems to have helped some of my bugs.

 

You are right ttilberg, I guess my problem is that I did not install traktor from CD but just downloaded it and entered the serial number from the cd. Don't have a cd/dvd drive at the moment so need to buy external one.. hope it'll work after that.

Nikajeiran -- Here is the .tsi that will load your controller's config. Again, as I mentioned above, make sure you change the input/output sources to specify that controller only... What a nightmare I had figuring out that Midi Yoke was making infinite loops. I'm used to software defaulting to "don't use anything unless you say" -- sheesh.


Note: The Numark mapping has Tick and View buttons backwards.

Just import your specific .tsi into Traktor and it will be just as if you had installed it off CD.


I personally am not too thrilled with the default setup, but it at least gets you going well enough. I am working on a new map that takes some ideas from DJTechTools's vci100se map. I'm having problems with LED output not resetting when I change modes though... Alas, I am a total noob to Traktor yet.

 

Numark Mixtrack problems

Hi;

I just bought Numark Mixtrack and connected to my laptop using traktor Pro.

It alla worked for the first evening, despite I still can't map the right upper side effects.

The day after I had to deal with the browser that now is going four tracks for a click, so is quite useless.
Then, when I load a track on a deck the system has a 'pause' that makes impossible to afford a live performance, no problems if you just record your set.

Then, my m-audio firewire stopped to work, and I had to re install all the stuffs.

I use a Dell Inspiron, a really powerful one, and I didn't encounter any kind of problems til now.

Anybody had similar problems?

nikajeiran, I have a question for you. I have Virtual DJ as well as Traktor LE, since it came with my Numark Mixtrack. How did you get Virtual DJ to work with the USB Mixer/Controller? I can get it to work with mine...I know that is off topic but I messege you offline. Thank you for your response

 

I have the same exact problem when trying to use the shared option for audio setup so i used( i think) the numark usb option and did'nt crash

I used the numarks configuration/mapping for Traktor taken from the traktor Le included with the controller.

Don't know if you were meaning this...

 

let's take this one step at a time
1. When u open up the wizard and go thru it, it asks how r u communicating firewire/usb and u need to choose yes
2. when it ask for the manufacturer (in the drop down list) there should be an option for numark roughly towards the middle of that list.(it is in mine)
3. In the same screen below step 2 u should have a drop down list for models ( mixtrack should be at the bottom it is in mine) choose that.
