As the person who started this thread, I should have realized that an off the cuff remark made first thing in the morning, is probably not the best thing to do.

So I know retract my comment.

And not because of the other opinions expressed here but because of Thomas's post which made me laugh.
And that's exactly what I needed this morning - a good laugh.

I also understand that software design is a tough job and you guys deserve recognition.

So Thomas and the NI crew congrats on your nomination and I hope you guys win again like you did in the DJ Mag -Tech Awards.

You guys are so lame. Seriously.

It's like walking into McDonald's and saying 'This place sucks, I'm only eating at Burger King!'

    Classless.

    Congrats on being nominated!

If nobody here would have used the opportunity to post a rant as a response to my IDMA post, I would have lost my faith in this forum.

Your right Chilly, where are my manners: congrats on the nomination NI (but I'm still not voting :p ).
This was supposed to be a joke.

I'm serious man...you don't HAVE to vote for anything...but these posts are just lame. I mean Thomas can't even post that Traktor was nominated for something without the first 3 responses being negative.

Here's my example: I HATED what NI did at NAMM this year with the Audio4 - from the skateboard park to Ean Golden using a Rane TTM57SL in his video. Looking back at some of the things I said, I think I could have done a better job at expressing myself, or maybe even kept my mouth shut and just written my concerns to someone like Thomas (which I did anyway). In the end I accomplished nothing other than looking like an idiot. It's much easier to be negative about something that's bothering you than it is to look at it from another light.

If Ni would have took the opportunity to post a response to all the rants on this forum instead of bigging themselves up and fishing for votes, I wouldn't have lost my faith in Traktor Pro.:p

Probably a bit uncalled for but still funny.

    "On The Record" sessions?

What exactly do you want? Engineers patrolling the forums and responding to the exact same issue that's posted in 30 different topics?

    Man...

It's a good thing I don't moderate nor am I on the payroll of NI because 75% of the $hit posted on here wouldn't make it. How many times are you going to have to read how pissed off people are because they don't know which fvcking version of Pro to buy to work with Timecode? (as an example)

All these things add up and irritate the $hit out of people like me (and I assume you too) who want to see legitimate problems in one post being worked through with the help of the community and engineers.

Couldn't have put it better! I thought this was more or less a tech support forum and not another board for childish rants and argues.

What really makes me sad about Traktor is looking at this forum the last days and seeing what the majority of its users seem to be like. :S

I really don't think that this is the right place to get personal so I won't keep on discussing this. Just wanted to show that I'm totally with you, Chilly.

About my comment; I'll refer to this post about Traktor 3 which is pretty much relevant to TSP also:

    http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=60889

How come Carl Cox ain't using TSP?

    http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=78957

Anybody seen Hawtin use TP? The biggest advertiser of Traktor?

Since the update to 1.1 I have registered about 12 bugs that I didn't have in the previous version.

I've spent $3000 on buying a midi controller and a new mixer the last month or so for no use at all as long as I have these bugs. Instead of focusing on having a good time behind the decks I have to worry about glitches and workarounds and pretty much everything else but the music and the crowd.

It may be ranting and it may be tiresome to some people - but the rants are in no way unjustified.

I'm more disappointed then I am angry. I want Traktor to be the ultimate DJ software and I've been very very pleased for the last couple of years. I'm still sticking to Traktor and probably always will

To those who take offense I'm sorry. I really am.

And to those who is undecided in what DJ software they should buy I'd still go for Traktor over anything else.

I really don't care who is using it and who isn't.

    Zabiela is using it
    Ean Golden is using it
    Qruis George is using it

QG? Who's that? He's my good friend from across the mini-pond of the Detroit River who lives Windsor who sold me on Final Scratch way back when I was trying to decide between FS and Serato.

Ditto.. Chilly, this is a public forum, and these rants are really not of novice users, these are voices of people that have stuck with the product for over years. If anything NI can do is at least listen or take feed back from pro/power users like us and then recommend changes. not just make the changes based on what they think might be right. this software was supposed to be for the dj's , by the dj's, that idea seems to have changed.

Well I am happy with Traktor pro ok I have had the odd funky thing happen no worse than a needle jumping of the vinyl, that happend at Fabric when Sebo K was playing do people go running about screaming that Technic decks are poop because if you shake the world they might skip.

Its a part of life jumpig decks skipping cds and the odd funky audio mash up while using a laptop, TSP has got my vote I have looked at the other companys and they dont cut it like Traktor if you dont like it go back to cds/vinyl.

it's been amazing to read that extensive feedback. it looks like it's my own opinion, correctly expressed (i'm not a native english speaker) and reasoned.

kudos to jay mitchell for taking the time to write his opinion, this should be a sticky in all walls of NI headquarters.

Why the hell is everyone so caught up with WHO is using it?

Learn TS Pro/Pro inside and out and be your OWN pro DJ.

Then NI will put YOU on the bill and you can explain to the world why Pro is better than the competing products.

    To add more to this...

Nuff DJ's around me use Serato and tried pulling me. I said no and stuck it out with Traktor, long time now.

It's to the point I'm now getting booked because people hear the sound quality difference and enjoy my sound because I use effects... etc., record events and provide CD's if requested which are of good sound quality from the built-in recorder.

So yes, I voted... If you can't see why, then I don't know why are you using the product PERIOD.
