I just bought Traktor Scratch Duo two days ago. Yesterday everything worked perfectly. Today I tried running the time coded vinyl and it is only being picked up by one turntable. I went into the calibration in preferences and channel A calibrates fine. Channel B is showing a vertical line. When i turn the tables on to calibrate, the vertical line just gets bigger. In the decoder gain area L and R of Channel A go to about 5.0 and 5.4. The channel B is a 0 for L and 5.3 for R. When I load tracks to both turntables Table A works fine and table B cuts in and out. When it cuts in and I pull the vinyl in reverse the track continues going forward, it never goes back. I tried unplugging everything and re plugging it back in but it still does not work right. When I play normal vinyl it works just fine. Does anyone know what is going on with it?
    Thanks!

I have attached a screen shot of what it looks like in the calibration.

looks like you have one channel missing. You should check your connexions again as well as the cart connexion to the tonearm.

I checked both connections and everything is connected fine. Is it a possibility that the RCA has a bad connection or wire? This doesn't seem like the issue because when I use normal vinyl both turntables work fine.

Try to connect your turntables directly to the interface without the multicores. What cartridges do you use? Have you checked the contacts in your tonearm?

I am new to all of this, but how would I do either of the things just suggested. I am not sure where to locate the contact in the tonearm. I guess I am not sure how to connect my turntables to the interface (Which rca goes where)
    ---
I just unplugged them and re plugged them back in and now neither of them are working (not picking up the timecoded vinyl). /////on the Audio4 Dj the number 3 on channel b is lit up but both turntables are off. I think something is seriously wrong with my setup.

I too have had the exact same problem, however on the left turtable. It happened while playing a club gig and I couldnt get it to function at all until much later in the night. I had taken the cart off and gave the connectors a good rub on my jeans and tried multiple times to get it going. It keep saying that the left channel was missing and I had a vertical line, the contol vinyl would only take the song forward even when I pulled back. These were brand new technics turntables and brand new ortofon carts. At one point, I managed to get it going for a few songs on the longer playing side, then it had the same problem again when i switch it to the shorter side of the record. I just bought traktor scratch pro last week so the snake cables can't be broken. Could this be a problem with the time coded vinyl?

I love playing vinyl and I hope there is some way to make it more reliable as I will be playing it at club gigs and can't have the issues I had last week.

I hope I have given good detail and someone might be able to help. Or you can email me at djjohncharles at hotmail dot com.

    Hi,
I had the same problem with the vinyl setup. Changed the needle and it worked. Funny due to the new ortofon doesn´t work and the old one does.

So I plugged in my turntables to the interface without using the multicores and it works just fine. Does this mean the multicores are bad? I sent a technical support request to NI but I haven't heard back from them and its been quite awhile. Do they have a 1800 number I can call?

    Thanks!

To test it just put on a normal vinyl and listen in your heas set, and im sure you only have sound on one side.
I usualy then just ajust the cart intill i get both left and right channel

When I put normal vinyl on both turntables work just fine. I think I have got narrowed the problem down to being the multicore cables. When I don't use these and I plug my turntables right into the interface, it reads both tables just fine. There has to be something wrong with the cables that were in the box.

    Hey everyone<
Im having similar issues, I first installed the software on my computer without using the turntables immediately. when i went back later to hook everything up, all the lights on my audio4 turned on and all cables were hooked up right, but the music on the software would not start when the records play.
I called cust service and went through all possible options, havent gotten it to work yet. so could it be that my cartriges are old or my tables are old (10yrs)?
also, when i play regular vinyl its fine or when i play straight from my computer its fine. im just trying to get the track started once the needle hits the vinyl. i tried timecode and all.... nothing.
    any suggestions?

I called tech support and basically one of the multicore cables was defective. They are sending me a new one so hopefully this will fix the problem!

Im having the same problem, my right turntable isnt working.
Iv changed the needles, and the cables and still nothing. The wiring is fine and is exactly the same set up as the left turntable which is working perfectly.

@aleem: You need to get Traktor Scratch Pro with a Traktor Scratch certified soundcard. Check out any of the many threads on this or the NI shop for further info.

Any turntable you can DJ on, you can use with TSPro.

@jubodia: doesn't look like a dropped channel. Looks like a grounding problem.

Definately a grounding problem. You can test it by playing back a normal record and seeing if you get that buzzing noise.

MANY people are having problems with the multicore cables, including me. I strongly advise just getting rid of the multicore cables and using regular RCAs. I was having all kinds of troubles with Deck B until I switched to regular RCA cables. Now everything works fine. My multicore cables were hardly ever used. They went bad only a couple months after I bought Traktor, and they were untouched, hooked up inside my DJ case.
