    Hi all,

Welcome to the sixth issue of "Traktor on the Record"! This Q&A session gives you the opportunity to get direct answers from product designer Friedemann and product manager Tobias on all things Traktor.

Please read this post first for info on how this works:
    http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=75597

    The most important stuff briefly:

    - This thread works like a mailbag, all posts go in an internal queue and won't be visible at first
    - This session is a "Free For All", so all forum members can post questions
    - Please keep it focussed and suggest only one topic per session

This thread will be closed for submissions sometime on Wednesday, and answers will be posted on Friday.

We are looking forward to your topics!

    Regards, Thomas

Absolutely. The current tapping function is not yet perfect, and we will improve it in the next update that comes after version 1.1.

There is actually a solution to achieve what you want:

    - assign the "Tempo" controller to the encoder
    - use the "Jog" controller type

This only works when not additionally using SYNC though, because it will reset the internal pitch fader to 0% during normal playback.

This is not something that we can reproduce here. Are you sure that your tracks have a correct beat grid? If not, it is probably due to the inaccuracy of the transients.

Hang on, the upcoming 1.1 update will come with a MIDI mapping for the XP10.

We will definitely extend the cover art management functionality over time, but I can’t tell you right now when we might introduce these exact features.

With the advanced relative mode you will be able to use the CUE button on the CD deck in the same way as in absolute mode, without any limitations.

Staying in relative mode during deck load is already possible in the current version. Just disable the "Switch to Absolute Mode when Loading" option in the Timecode preferences.

When you skip to the start of the track by pressing the left Track Search button on the CD deck, the advanced relative mode will not switch to absolute mode but stay in relative mode when you disable the option "Switch to Absolute Mode in lead-in".

I hear you, this feature is actually very high on our priority list for the update that comes after version 1.1.

We are actually updating the Knowledge Base right now to have as much information on Traktor Pro as possible. If you have any specific suggestions, please send them to us, they are definitely appreciated.

The "zero sticker drift" was already implemented in version 1.0.2 for small drifts of up to 100ms which are typical for CD decks. The advanced relative mode in 1.1 now also deals with "large" skips like they can typically happen with vinyl.

Advanced relative mode has other main benefits for CD timecode because it also allows you to use the SEEK / CUE functions and the stutter search loop on the CD deck in relative mode.

This concludes the sixth Traktor On The Record. Thanks everyone for your submissions!

We received more questions than we could answer this time, so some of them will carry over to next week.
