i guess this was ask before but i can't find any other solution. traktor pro 2.6 and 2.5.1 keep freezing when loading a song and while browsing, the audio is a ok, no skipping or any bad latency, the freezing is around 2 to 5 second i mean the screen hang for a while then back to normal, the wave display stops randomly, not every song is like this. i scan all my songs when i upgrade and downgrade and during my painfull reformatting (10x i guess) of my hard drive, as you have known i change my hard drive recently to western digital scorpio blue 500g as my old toshiba hard drive gave up (bad blocks) so i change, it doesnt have any problem with my old toshiba (no freezing) but other problems have like traktor crashes and other wierd things so i change hard drive, this time is ok just this traktor pro freezing randomly. one other problem is the other night one pioneer cdj900 lost audio (im using HID by the way and it happen before) lucky its not the one playing, so i play some from my usb flash card then restart traktor and back to normal work. i heard the freezing is from my hard drive, i read from some dude that western digital scorpio blue is not fast enough (5200rpm) but my old toshiba is 5200rpm and no freezing, why is that? and i have notice that when i install a fresh traktor pro 2.6 and dont have any songs in it just the demo, and i play around theres no problem, no hanging of some sort, fast loading, is it my collections and playlist? i just have 2730 mp3 files (no corrupt or broken mp3). just this two question, hope someone can explain this problem, very terrifiying while theres so many people dancing, im becoming paranoid with this. HELP! thanks in advance.

heres my things: macbook pro mid 2010 15 inch, 2.4 Ghz intel core i5, 4 gb memory, new western digital scorpio blue 500 gb, 2 pioneer cdj 900 (HID), djm 800, 1 traktor f1, 1 orico 4 port usb hub.

ps: the freezing also happens when nothing connected to my macbook, just using the keyboard while playing!

    nope...

thanks for a response, i guess its not the latency, i tried. did you mean audio latency right? as i said before my audio is no problem its traktor's wave form and browser is freezing for a few seconds when loading a song not the audio.

I have the same thing and tried everything. Maybe i didn't create any audio software buy as a software engineer i tried everything that i can think. I'm also very well at googling and i'm not the only one having this problem. Anyway, i'm giving up. I'll try to downgrade 2.5.1 and will write te results.

This happens to everyone although not for that long. (On mine it never lasts for more than a second or two at the most.) The main reason why this happens is that traktor give absolute priority to playing the audio and sometimes screen updates just need to wait. If it doesn't affect the audio as well I wouldn't get too stressed.

You can try messing around with audio processing buffers and see if that helps. If not and you are worried about the long waits get in contact with tech support and see if they can help.

For those who have audio glitches as well try playing around with buffer settings as well or contact tech support.

i think thats the problem there, traktor keeps refreshing the screen while u do something on it like loading a song or browsing, mine didn't affect the audio but others do, depends on the system i guess. i'll try messing with the audio buffer maybe have good balance between the screen updating and audio buffer. hmm...is there any relation between the audio and video (screen gui interface) in traktor? well if there's, that's new for me, but i have a good video card, does that count? i think traktor need to put a screen buffer knob on it too,. well anyway thanks for the reply guys.
