Basically Ive got 2 laptops, one running Traktor & the other running Ableton

My copy of Traktor Pro 1 sends midi clock no problem to the other laptop, but when I try to do the same with Traktor Pro 2 my second laptop isnt picking up any midi signal.
The send midi clock box is ticked in settings & the play/sync button is enabled in the midi tab in the upper left of the main screen

Anyone any idea why it works no problem with TP1 & not on TP2 with the same settings or am I missing an extra setting in TP2?

How are you getting MIDI from one machine to the other? You probably haven't added a midi device in your controller manager that is outputting to your MIDI interface that you use to connect the 2 machines.

    Hey Guys

Sorry, I should have been a bit more specific, with TP1 I just hook a midi cable to the "out" port on my Audio 8, tick the "send midi clock" box in settings & hit the play button in the little midi tab up on the top left of the screen & it sends away

When I do the same with TP2 my 2nd laptop just dosnt seem to receive any midi signal + I dont remember having to go into controller manager with TP1 so never bothered looking there

Is there something in there I should be ticking if using an Audio 8?

Yes u need to create a new generic midi device in Traktor.
If u use the midi out port of your audio8 u have to select it as output there.
    Leave input blank.

The rest works as u know.

make sure that your abelton settings are fine and the correct input is chosen here.
Maybe u also have to adjust the midi offset to get it tight.

I think u already must have done this in TSP1

You can check your audio8. There should be a highlighted midi light if
    it is sending midi.

Check out the DJ Endo tutorial on syncing Traktor and Ableton on Dubspot's Youtube channel. Should do the trick.

Ah nice one fella, I just saw that my TP1 does indeed have a Generic Midi device setup whereas my TP2 dosnt.

I went into TP2 and created one, but unlike the device in my TP1 there are no controls listed in the assignment table - this shouldnt matter though should it?
As all I wanna do is route the signal to another laptop which by setting it to "all ports" like in my TP1 setup it should allow me to do.

Havnt got my 2nd laptop to try it till the weekend but thanks, you've helped me out bigtime there :)

    U are right!
There should be nothing in there.
Just set the output & you should be fine.
Have a nice & synced weekend

Personally I would set the output to the Audio 8 instead of 'All Ports' You may introduce strange behaviour in other midi devices you have or may in the future connnect.
