First of all I'm very happy with the new sort option for multiple columns!

I guess it's not a bug but a feature, but I'd really like to see that the last used sort settings are saved/stored per playlist/folder. Now I have to redo my sorting every time I restart Traktor.

    Cheers,
    E-Con

Haven´t tested 3.4. yet, but normally you can save the order of a playlist by right-clicking it and pressing "Consolidate Playlist". Hope this works for your needs.

Thanks, I didn't know that. But I actually meant 'folder' so I updated my first post.

Scratch-E Con Just for us to understand what you mean, you want the sorting setting for a playlist to remain upon restarting the software? This is working, the sort settings are remembered for each playlist. Also if the playlist is in playlist folder the sort settings are retained upon restart.

Perhaps you can give us some clear instructions to reproduce your issue?

    Thanks.

    Best

I believe the issue is that the sorting resets when you go to a different folder in the Explorer node. This is a longstanding issue and unrelated to the new multi-sorting.

If thats the issue yes that has never worked, it's not trivial to implement also.

Can you do this for the Track Collection node, too? Every time I navigate to All Tracks, I resort it by Import Date. It's the only way I want to look at this particular folder.

    Yes and no.

My comment is indeed about folders but not in the Explorer/tree. I have defined all 12 favorites (between the decks and detailed browser overview) of which some are playlists and some are folders. After Traktor restart the latest sort options for playlists are still there but I have to re-apply the sort order for the folders.

    I hope this makes sense?

Folders itself cannot contain tracks, they can only contain playlists so I still do not understand what you mean ;) There is nothing you can sort in Playlist Folders.

    Hi Scratch-E Con,
first of all thanks for testing Traktor and reporting your issues here!

As Sander pointed out, we do preserve sorting settings for all the playlists in the Traktor collection (that means everything you see under "Track Collection" and "Playlists"), that is what Traktor manages as its own "database" and where you as a user have access to the most track management features (e.g."Search in Playlists").

The other nodes, like iTunes/Music or Explorer, are meant to browse additional sources for tracks to be imported in the Traktor collection, in fact this happens automatically as soon as you load a track from iTunes/Music or Explorer into any of the decks. That is why they miss some of the features of standard Playlists, like persistence of the sorting settings or even the ability to rearrange the tracks in the list view.

But good catch kokernutz, "All Tracks" is not keeping its sorting, will file a ticket about this. "Track collection" works for me though, can you doublecheck?

    Best, Enzo

Hi Sander @ NI Enzo @ NI I now understand what you mean.

I just tested and I see below behaviour:
    - Playlist: sort settings are kept after restart
    - Folders: sort settings are lost after restart (known fact as per Sander and difficult to fix)
    - Track collection: sort settings are lost after restart => bug. This confirms kokernutz post.

Yes, Track Collection keeps its sort order, but All Tracks does not.

Hi Sander @ NI was hoping the issue with track collection sort settings was fixed in the new beta but apparently not.
I hope this is still on your radar?

I already understood what the problem was I also test the traktor pro 3.4. In the traktor pro 3.4.limited number of tracks, limited amount of information that can process the playlist, if it exceeds the limit, then when you leave the tractor and come in again it does not save the settings, sorting tracks, even when switching from folder to folder it also breaks the settings because too many tracks be in a folder. When I add a folder up to 5 gigs with tracks to the playlist, everything works fine, all the track is updated, and the tractor output saves everything, and settings and sorting tracks, and if I add a folder larger than 5 gigs with tracks, then there are failures, the tractor automatically reboots, tries to update this folder again, already then updated the tracks, but when you add a track to the deck it takes a very long time to analyze, turn on the play button but the track does not play. because the limit of processing of information of a plelist is exceeded.
