As a developer myself, I guess sometimes you feel very sad reading all those comments.
But don't worry, we realise it's not the problems in the developers, but in the management taking stupid decisions to go toward useless features, rather than giving what real djs from the forum want.

    Just my .02$

Man power was the issue before. It seemed like there was only one person locked in the basement maintaining Traktor for awhile but now it looks like extra manpower is now employed to move things forward.

I know how bad it feels if you can do much better as a developer but are dictated from your product manager the wrong things.
We have really to wonder how NI is taking decisions on new features. It looks like they never ever take a look in the forum what we are requesting. It would be such a good source.

I hope it don't turn out it's only ignorance

I think that lack of hardware compatibility is hurting Traktor more than missing software features. There is a lot of cool equipment out there which doesn't natively support Traktor, maybe they should rebrand the company name to Un-Native Instruments .

I'm a (scratch) nerd who doesn't mind to spend few hours on midi mapping to get my Rane Seventy working with TP3 but most people don't want to go through that hassle. And rightly so.

Its the lack of everything which is hurting Traktor Pro but frontmost the lack of communication and in good product management.

I don't want to spend hours on MIDI mapping but I am expecting from a "PRO" product that it's capable and without limitations because of bugs.
And if a 3rd party controller is not supporting MIDI (HID) it should be natively supported from the first day and not after month.

Best example the new Denon DJ LC6000 Prime. It's already supported from any other popular DJ software but what do we know ?
Will it ever get Traktor Pro support and when ? There is no official information from NI. We only can make assumptions on copyright information found on the Denon website.

There is no reason to keep this information secret. From a 10+ years company I am expecting open and professional communication, software free from bugs, and with top notch features. It can not be too difficult. Everybody is expecting it.

"Shouldn't have eliminated jog wheels", Etc., Etc., Etc., are just symptoms.
Traktor's REAL problem is they stopped listening to their customers.

They didn't eliminated jogwheels... They focused on people with turntables (S8) and sync for the rest. Jogwheels were redundant and still are. These are only a must for A>B mixing users or open format. NI tried to come back with the new mk3 proposal and failed once again because poor implementation in all fronts (closed garden, no DVS on iPad, discontinued products, too much focus on x86...)

Native can revamp Traktor division for the win but it even didn't knows what to do because they haven't clear their own market and can't be more innovative than pioneer (which are anything but pioneers) due money constraints.

So it will be better for Native to clear all the mesh and draw a proper roadmap but due covid and halt in djing... It's the future bedroom? (the ad from Traktor Dj2 pointed that direction years ago) It's the future streaming? Turntables? Just touch iPad app? AI? Festivals?
Proof? A survey about X1mk3.... pfff.

Since NI doesn't work for the passion anymore (due they need to make numbers for Francisco Partners) probably will end doing subscription model for Traktor Dj 2 app meanwhile keeps updating Traktor Pro 3 the most the code permits it... but with just one team you can't expect fast development IMHO.

Another solution could be going embed Traktor Pro 3 ala M+ and rework everything on the Traktor Dj 2 Universal app code meanwhile... It's not only Traktor, it's all about all the products. Maybe Izotope could bring some resources (iOS development, better fx for TP3...)

    We will see.

Look, I know I'm the "New Guy", so let me be clear - although old code, this is a great piece of software. Please take my tough comments with the understanding that I do not want what happened to other "great software's" to happen here.

Torq, Mixmeister, Deckadance are going, or went, the way of the Dodo bird. IMHO, Mixvibes Cross for PC/Mac will probably soon join them.
I never used the first three, but I have just come from Cross DJ, and the same thing happened, they stopped listening to their customers.

This is not unique to the DJ software world - you can look at almost any industry/business that is (or should be) customer driven, and find the same failures.

Dude you can't be serious.. Or you are not a real working dj in a club.

Anyone, I mean anyone, that started from turntables or CDJs knows what we are talking about. Also the examples you give are not worth it. If they failed because of customer driven features, this means they have listened only to their bad customers. And it's normal, because major software for djs are only Serato, Recordbox and Traktor. Anything else is for wannabe djs that have no idea what the dj job is all about.

P.S. You can share how much expirience you have, me personally.. I started djing at 1995.

P.S.#2 People here scream for years for elastic beatgrids. Can you tell me how this will screw the software? Actually this is the only thing that will keep this software alive. Because sooner or later if this ignorance from NI continues, we'll just switch to Recordbox or Serato. The only thing stopping me, is I invested a lot of time of music preparation in Traktor, and I don't wan't to start from all over again setting cues, loops, etc on other software.. But probably at one point I will.

I'm thinking the same, it looks like time for a change. But also, how to export loops as well.
