Traktor Pro 3 confuses collection on two macs

I installed Traktor Pro 3 on a new Catalina macbook but now, because of this installation, I'm having problems with my settings and collection on an older macbook with High Sierra.

When I installed on Catalina it seemed to take my Traktor settings/collection from the older machine, presumably because they're on the same network. I thought this was odd but clever and was happy to let it happen thinking it would save me time.

But now when I switch between the two machines they keep changing the settings to suit each other — my drives have different names so Traktor now thinks it's not installed correctly on whatever machine I use.

This isn't helped by Catalina not having iTunes. Anything that was added to the older machine from iTunes (about 2,000 tunes) has just disappeared from my collection database.

Can anyone explain how can I stop Traktor doing this, please, and keep the two installations and collections completely separate from each other?

I'm happy to start again on the Catalina if that's what it takes.

Most likely your Documents folder is being synced to iCloud Drive, so both Traktor installations are constantly overwriting each other's collection. It's recommended to turn this off under System Preferences > iCloud > click Options next to iCloud Drive > uncheck Desktop & Documents Folders. Also uncheck Optimize Mac Storage.

You could also move your Traktor root folder outside of Documents under Traktor preferences > File Management.

Fixed, and I was able to recover my full collection (minus some mionor recent changes) from a backup collection.nml file too.
