Traktor Pro 3 "Flushing Background Tasks" Freeze

I'm on a Mac with Sierra
it happened several times...
And when I have to Force Quit.. I lost the playlist It took hours to create and other settings..
when will you correct this bug?

 

As a workaround tip: Map CMD & S on your Keyboard to safe the collection.

 

THanks.. I have SHIFT+S with that action.. but every now and again, I forget to save before I quit and sh*t happens :S

are they working on this? I read It came from earlier versions too. Before traktor 3, I've always used 2.6.8 with no problems

 

Sorry to hear you are having this problem. The problem exists and persists, so the best advice for now is that which you have been given. If you are interested in storing anything you did on your current session, make it a habit of saving your collection. NO other way exists as of now to guarantee you won't get that dreaded freeze.

 

Same here on Windows, woooo! Using an old Traktor 2.x library.

 

AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN this issue happens and NATIVE INSTRUMENTS do NOTHING!
After 5 years of I've lost so much work due to this crap and am now going back to vinyl.
Bye bye Traktor.

 

One quixk FIX from NI, would be to change the order of the shutdown process, and when we quit, the software should first SAVE the work, and then flush the bk tasks. If if freezes, you dont loose nothing

 

Seems simple but what has prevented NI from doing this? It’s been 3+ years since the issue was raised...

 

Apart from the fact that I also don't understand why NI can't do it for years ... What keeps you away from integrating a small workaround into your mapping. Just cmd & c. Anyone who works with a Mac has known this shortcut since day one. He automatically saves himself in to your workflow after a few days ...

 

"cmd & c" normally is COPY. but whatever floats your boat
I do use tihs workaround too... but every once and a while I forget to save before exit and... kaput

I was going to make the switch from Rekordbox to Traktor, but really having second thoughts after having experienced this twice.

 

NI, could you please just save the collection before you hang on killing child processes?

It's a bit silly that changes to the user's collection like adding files, adding to playlists aren't atomic and persisted once complete rather than on program exit. When you think about how long DJs spend in a session curating, how much frustration has this bug caused?

 

I have remapped the quit (cmd-q) button to save the collection.

 

Since the last versions of Traktor Pro 3, I have been suffering several times from a problem that makes me lose the playlist (and the cues, intros, loops, etc. that I mark each song in the list). This happens when I quit Traktor, and appears the window with the message: Flushing Background-Tasks.

Really it is a big problem because after hours spending time preparing a playlist, I have to start over again. Please review the problem.

I use Mac OS Catalina 10.15.2 and Traktor Pro 3.2.1 9 version.

 

I have been a long-time traktor user, and since Traktor 2 early versions the issue exists, and we are on 2020, Traktor 3, still persists.

Dear Native instruments, this is a recurrent and unacceptable bug which costs hours of work from your customers.

it is a shame to see this still going on, as it surely spits on Traktor's professional software reputation and makes its rivals laughing out loud.

 

Check this out, Flushing Background Tasks actually doing its job!

I've hardly mixed in a year 'cos I bought this new S2 and Traktor is a bag of $#!+ and it's too stressful. This is meant to be fun.
