Since there are only some days left until Apple is officially releasing macOS Monterey I am asking myself if there is an official statement if it will be supported from the first day or not.

I hope we are not running in the same dilemma like one year ago.

    Statement please.

Same procedure as every year (and always the same questions…)

DONT (!!!) update to the very first version of an OS-Release. ALWAYS wait for xx.1

And wait for an official statement from NI

Like small dogs we have to wait for a command from our owner ?
Why in the hell we should ? There was 5 month time to adopt any changes in macOS since June.
Software companies which are committed and loyal to there customer are ready for release.

Tell me one reason why NI should not be ready and why there is not already an official statement with an assumption when they will be ready ?
It looks like your opinion got stuck in the 90s, a time where developer did not get access to prerelease versions.

    This really bugs me

We've been testing Monterey since getting access to the beta, like every time.
Guaranteeing compatibility isn't a one way street just for the developer to get their act together, there's a ton of things that could go wrong on either side. Just like every year, we'll have to do more testing with the final release and fix whatever needs to be fixed / work with Apple on anything we have little control over.

To answer your original question, it's very unlikely we'll ever support from day 1 just because testing the released version is essential. It's also not a surprise and a statement was available on our website for quite some time already: https://support.native-instruments....737-macOS-12-Monterey-Compatibility-Statement

    Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for providing the link to the statement which is exactly what I was looking for. I am a little bit afraid with NI products since the S4 MK3 TT mode disaster last year which took until around March this year to get fixed.

So this year nothing special. Only a standard statement to protect NI in case 1 out of 1000 would face an issue with the new system.

The statement will probably change on Monday when the OS is out and we usually mention any identified issues (especially if affecting hardware). I haven't heard of anything specific quite yet and so I'm guessing it looks pretty good (for Intel Macs at least). We're working on general compatibility for M1 so Monterey won't really change much on that front.

Anyone try it yet now the final version is out? I have the S4 Mk3 so a bit hesitant to try after last year's situation.

    Hi everyone!
Hope my scenario can contribute to the thread!
I just bought the 14" Macbook Pro with M1 and I've got Monterey.
It seems like the 3.4 version of TS does run but I'm not able to make the DVS timecode work (I use a lovely dinosaur's Audio 10!), nor to import my Traktor settings on it.
Do you think this scenario could improve once we reach full compatibility? Has anyone had the same issues? For what time can we hope in a full compatibility? I'm losing gigs already!!!!

I wish we could create something like a "pressure group" or a pressure thread? :):)

    Thanks a lot

    Hello folks.
I totally get N.I's position regarding a new O.S. I've been around for a number of years so i've seen this many times.
However, it looks like I'm going to have to replace my Mac in the next couple of weeks, & I have gigs all through December. .....& of course, all stock in apple's official retail channels will probably have Monterey pre-installed.
So...... has anybody had any real world experience gigging with Monterey yet? Or is to too risky?
    I'm a Kontrol S4 Mk 3 user, if that makes a difference.

Alternatively, is it possible to wind back a Mac supplied with Monterey to Big Sur?

    Hello,
(sorry for the google translation !)
I just received my new Macbook Pro 14 ". Traktor 3.5.1 loaded with the root directory to the hard drive of my old MacBook. Cannot change the path. I uninstall, reinstall, it created a new one root directory, but cannot play music and quit without going through Force quit ...

Hey Pat, you might wanna download a beta version of Traktor 3.5.2 instead. It's now compatible with Monterey.

And what was the solution for your problem(s)?
My previous MBP got destroyed, so I had to buy a new (with Monterey) and this is still not working, even with Beta 3.5.2 295...
    Thanks in advance...
