Traktor Pro as Gift but no Audio card and Timecodes...

    Hello.

    I was given a brand new Traktor Pro (software only) as gift by my brother. I want to know, if I buy the Audio 4 (dont need the Audio 8 because, too expensive) with the Multicore Cables, and CD + Vinyl timecode controllers... will the Traktor Pro software work?

    Someone told me that this setup wont work even if I buy the Audio 8. I will need to buy the whole Traktor Scratch Pro box which defeats the purpose of my Traktor Pro software only gift... something to do with the timecode cds/vinyl not going to work...

    Can someone shed light on my concern... a reply would be greatly appreciated...

    There is an upgrade kit that will get you the pieces you need to essentially upgrade / convert your Traktor Pro to Scratch Pro. Look on the NI site proper ib products. I don't know if there is an upgrade kit that gets you sctch pro upgrade with an A4. You should be able to tell from the NI site what you will get as a legit licensed Traktor Pro user is the Timecode Vinyl and CDs the Scratch Pro software on CD and Serial Number, The audio interface and I think the multicore cables. It costs more to go the route you need to go down that a straight sctch Pro buy but since you did not pay for Traktor Pro then your price will be less.

    Thank you for the reply. OK, already having the A4, Timecode Vinyls/CDs and cables, do you think if I buy the download version of Traktor Scratch Pro, which has the DVS Plug-in, it will work for my system?

    A reply would be greatly appreciated.

    There is no download software only upgrade path from Traktor Pro to Traktor Scratch Pro.

    As you've obviously recently got all the gear I'd either:

    a) return it all and get a refund or credit (your brother won't mind you returning your Traktor Pro if you are buying a better version will he?), then buy the version of Traktor Scratch (Pro or Duo) that you want

    b) buy the Traktor Scratch Pro upgrade for Audio4 owners, but then you'll have spares, useful if you are going to play out
