    Here is my equipment list:
    new aluminum macbook OSX 10.5.5
M-Audio Xponent (not for much longer if this keeps up)
    Traktor Pro

I had Traktor 3.3 working beautifully(it still works, luckily!) before I bought T Pro and now I am having this issue with the whole computer crashing:

I got the program set up and running and most of the midi mapping completed. When I quit Traktor and tried to reopen it it crashes the whole computer- I have attached a copy of the crash log. I think it has something to do with the midi drivers. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling T pro as well as the drivers for the Xponent but it hasn't solved the problem. The installation goes ok with the Xponent connected but when I quit and try to reopen it crashes again. Thanks for your help !

Here is my ticket number: 2008110210005134

    Here is the crash report:

    Update:
I just went out and bought a new Hercules RMX Pro mixing unit & a Korg nano Kontrol controller. I've been fed up with the Xponent for a while now and I had a bit of extra cash so I thought I'd give this a go. I'll keep you posted!

    Korg Nano Kontrol ROcks!

Been using the Hercules & the Nano Kontrol for about 5 hours now & I've had no problems whatsover. Everything was easy to midi map. I definitely recommend the nano Kontrol to anyone- it was only $60 and it works like a charm. The Hercules unit works very well too- it's very sturdy & smaller than the Xponent.

Sure thing mumbles- at the office right now but will do it when i get home ! It really is a good piece of kit for the price...it feels pretty solid for what it is and it's tiny. You also have a toggle for 4 different "scenes" which you can map to to different midi channels so theoretically you have 4 x the amount of sliders, knobs & buttons. You can also download an editor program and save different set ups and then load them onto the controller. I'm going to sell my Behringer BCR 2000 & my Xponent (let me know if anyone is interested)

I am having the exact same problem, but I am using the Numark Total control. Did you do anything different other than change your controller Bustedkarma? Also did you notice that there is a shaded grey line that decended over the global controls at the top before it crashed your system too? Weird stuff. Already send it in to Tech support so we will see what happens, unlike you I just got my TC so don't want to trade it in just yet :)

Can't imagine why it would run fine after the install, but freeze on the second start. Then un/reinstall, works fine first time, second time freeze. Frustrating indeed.
    UPdate

Hmmm I just tried starting it with the TC disconnected and it started fine, then I plugged it in after it was running (it didn't work of course) then reloaed the TKI and it works fine. I wonder if some controllers cause a conflict on start up or something?

This is exactly what happened. I haven't really been messing with it that much since last week as I bought another controller and have finally managed to tweak everything so it works. I am still waiting to get an answer from the support people about it, so far they haven't been much help (I know they are probably very busy).
What sort of a mac are you using ?

I have the very same problem. When lauching Traktor Pro on 10.5.5 and xponent plugged, the software will crash. If not plugged, Traktor Pro will launch normally but crashes when i plug the xponent in....
Traktor 3.4 launches smoothly, xponent plugged or not...
So basically, it has to do with Traktor Pro and Xponent combined.
I'll try to unplug the xponent (or switch off), launch Traktor Pro, set the audio out to my macbook buit-in audio, plug the xponent, and set the audio setting to xponent.

when the xponent is not the defaut audio device setup in traktor pro settings, the soft will load normally
    ---
Total BS! After a loooong analysis then quitting Traktor Pro, i had a "flushing..." thing message. Let it go through the end. When i relaunched Traktor Pro, my entire library was f*cked up. Years and cover arts have been removed by Traktor Pro. the 'part of a compilation' tag too (usefull in itunes)
    ...
can't believe i have to retag my files (and write protect them next time)
    ...

Hmmm, you guys are having problems with the m-audio xponent... I am having the exact same problems, but am using a Numark TC and an m-audio fast track pro. Only thing related is the M-audio brand, strange no? Is it possible that something in the m-audio drivers could be causing the program to crash?

    PS chachakoala that really sucks

Same sort of problem here.. I have the Reloop Digital Jockey.
When I turn on my RDJ and after that Pro.. nothing wrong.
But when I turn on Pro without the RDJ plugged in, Pro won't start up. It sounds as the same problem you guys are having.

Can it be, that Pro searches for a MIDI-device at startup? And when it does not find it, it won't start at all?

I got the same problem (also the grey line before the crash) and I use a Mac bookpro OSX 10.5.5, a VCI-100 and......... the FAST TRACK PRO as external audio device!.
This is the answer of the guys of tecnical support:

    "Hello,

I have informed the development department to make further investigations and
to fix possible issues in a future update.

For so long, plug in the Fasttrack Pro after starting Traktor Pro, as a
    workaround.

    Andreas, Native Instruments Support Team"

    I'm not so satisfied.......

My reply from tech support was a link to their shopping page and a recomendation to one of their soundcards. I wasn't very happy either, at least I didn't pay yet, just the demo.

At least they are working on it, they didn't even say that to me. Only advised me to buy a new sound card, ha! Not likely it's only a year old.

Yes yes, pro sometimes locks up hard on startup for me too- with a vci-100 v1.2, a new macbook pro, 10.5.x etc, and I have to hard powercycle the machine. It's the only thing I've had hang the machine like that.

It's not a dealbreaker for me, as it's only at startup, not while decks are running, so I guess I can wait for this one to be tracked down :)

Got the same problem here with my Xponent.
Not to happy about it, guess I will have to turn on my Xponent after starting Traktor, that works for me, hope they will fix this issue really soon.

Same problem here. The weird thing is that everything was orking perfectly until I decided to restart Traktor to see if the sync bugs stopped.

Now If I start traktor with the xponent on OR even turn it on after I have already started traktor I will get a major Os X crash and have to hard restart.

    2008 iMac with 10.5.6
    latest drivers from m-audio
