C2C try actually providing value to the conversation, your post is next to worthless, perhaps but its a fact others have taken the time to document thus providing value, your message does nothing to consolidate that position.

okay, let me help him a bit because now I am absolutely 100% sure I have excluded every possibility there is.

    machines tested:

    - IBM T61p / 2GB RAM / 7200rpm HDD / winXP sp2 and sp3 (two partitions)

    - macbook (black) / 4 GB RAM / 7200rpm HDD / OSX leopard

    audio hardware tested:

    - ecler evo5 (two units! I even borrowed one for testing!)

    - NI audio8DJ

    source files used:

320 kbps CBR MP3s without exception

    additional info:

    - clean OS installs for audio apps only, no unnecessary programs/drivers installed
    - all unnecessary hardware (like WLAN or bluetooth) disabled
    - newest drivers and firmware for the audio devices installed
    - latest versions of TS (1.3.1.050) and TSpro (1.0.1.070) installed
    - all possible combinations of output sample rate, latency, deck cache and time stretch quality tested
(and I mean ALL! even the ridiculous and downright stupid ones)
    - used out-of-the-box shure m44-7 needles on vestax decks and out-of-the-box control vinyl

    observation & conclusion:

as long as internal playback is used, the sound is very good. key lock and tone correction work very well. but then I switch over to timecode control and the audio quality is shot to hell. support tells me they can't reproduce it (I even sent them one of my files!), but I have tested it so thoroughly that I can safely say they're either deaf or they're stalling for time because they know I'm onto an obvious lie

in other words, what I'm being told is BULLSHIT - especially because the "old" TS works like a charm on the same machines, using the same mp3 files. I played a 9+ hour gig this friday and TS performed flawlessly! of course I've used key lock and tone correction a lot because I pay attention to harmonic blends.

I assume somebody must've tried to "improve" something that was already working, and failed miserably. if there's anything I could have possibly missed, I dare you (in fact, I double and triple dare you) to enlighten me. if not... NI, hurry up and fix it. seriously. this is not a bonus feature, it's a part of the very basic functions, goddammit.

I couldn't agree more. Actually, I'm REALLY upset! How is it that a product called "Scratch" has problem when using vinyl control? ISN'T THAT THE POINT?

This isn't chump change to spend on a "professional" product, especially when it won't work at all. I thought I wasn't having issues at a latency of 5.5. Turns out during tonights practice I was. This is seriously not acceptable when Serato will run at 2 on my machine without a hiccup...EVER! No, I'm not happy, I have an important gig coming up and a product,Traktor Scratch Pro, that is completely useless to me.

oh guess what, I just upgraded to 1.0.2.011 and the problem is still there.

better give that 1.0.3. a nice big push and fix the key lock algorithm this time!

I thought the setup instructions for using turntables was a little thin on the detail. I ended up using a youtube video to help with a few parts

Once i was up and running though its all good.

I have to say from the packaging right down to the software and the drivers - it all feels like good quality stuff.

    Well worth the money

okay, about that keylock thing again... I sent the recordings to support and they, besides being very friendly and patient, couldn't really explain why the same thing works on TS and fails to work on TSpro - since both programs are supposed to use the same algorithms...

so I'll just keep using TS for now. let's see what happens when the new key lock algorithm is implemented (I hope this happens soon).

From what I am noticing, every time i get a droupout or audio crackle etc, the "master" light flickers from deck to deck. There is obviously a problem with this, it would be nice if someone at NI would let us know that they "get it". In my opinion they need to make a preference setting to turn off master/sync.

support confirmed to me today that, borrowing your phrase, "they get it".

so I'll be stopping my bitching for now, because it won't speed anything up. just be cool and pretend TSP never came out until it's fixed :D the message was cross-posted, the message was received, the issue is in the works and that's all I wanted to hear. let's see if salvation comes with the next update, or the update after that.

It's hard for me to pretend that it never came out when I can't pretend the money left my wallet. With the stability people were claiming with Traktor scratch and 3 before, I didn't expect they would completely redesign the product and make it unusable. And it appears that 1.0.2 has done nothing for me either. Sorry, but I'm really upset at this point and until somebody starts communicating around here, I would hope others will voice their dissatisfaction as well. This never should have been released and now their trying to cover it up with an "update" that does nothing for the audio issues. Not acceptable for a "professional" product.

So far I like it, have only spun for about 2 hours. Definitely had to map a lot of the VCI-100 to my liking. The original map is not that great. There is so much to do in Pro, I get lost. I am getting used to using 4 decks still, and I do not like the idea of trying to map the loops like t3. Still unknown what my final thoughts are. I use a Audio Kontrol 1 device, and am spinning at a party on the 22nd. I will let the forum know about stability then. Should be a 3-5 hour set. Plenty of time to find out.

been playing several times with Pro now and after getting familiar with it and some clicks and pops in the beginning I have now a solid application here on an old MacBook CoreDuo 2Ghz 2GB RAM OS-X 10.4.11 which runs without crashing for hours. (max was 9 hours)

T3 is finally past now... at least for me

    :)

I've now played around 10 gigs since I switched to TSPro, most of them 4-5 hours and it has yet to fail. No crashes or any other problems.

Uggghhhhh, I"VE HAD IT. I installed the 1.0.2 update and now everytime I restart, my track collection is gone and I have to reimport. Also, i hadn't had any crashes but today while using the SCS.3d to control decks in internal playback mode TSP crashed. I'm to the point of calling Traktor Scratch Pro complete GARBAGE. It also seems I can't get any support or words from anyone at the company. Bottom line is, there are some potential bright points in TSP if it program would function at all, but now I'm to the point of saying I just want my money back! This is not a professional product. How they can market it as one is beyond me.

Don't get me wrong Tranqui, I'm absolutely NOTsaying these issues don't exist. In fact the opposite is true. If you look I held a negative position of the product for a number of documented reasons. Its gotten me into a little hot water, but I won't sugar coat or deprecate my stated position on the issues to make it all look like a box o' fluffy ducks coz it ain't. I've taken the time to document the reasons for my negative opinions and how it affects me and my DJ style however in the case of C2C there was zero value or supporting evidence provided.

I'm more than willing to hear anyone out here, but if you have a complaint as you do, do us all the good grace of describing the issues you face. You've done that, and for that I'm appreciative of the efforts you took, the message C2C posted just felt like trolling.

Saying goodbye to the record players.

Because of Traktor Scratch Pro I no longer have mixed feelings about mixing without a record player. I enjoy the depth of each individual deck with its corresponding chained effects so much that I am relearning digital DJ'ing...again. The only real problem for me is tweaking everything in the preference section so that I have as many options as possible without causing a major load on my CPU. So far, with sporadic testing of an hour here and a hour there, 4 decks, external mixing, chained effects with a playback set at 96 kHz all is well. Thanks NI.

With the new firmware from Reloop for the Reloop Digital Jockey (Interface) and maybe also the new update to 1.0.2 (I was too anxious to test it and forgot to test the firmware update w/o updating Traktor Pro), I have now a solution with which I can move away from the old Traktor 3 family into the new world of Traktor Pro. The tsi file for the Reloop mixer still needs to some work, but I expect that with some investment in time I will manage to reach a more workable MIDI-mapping.

    Bus Speed: 1 GHz
    Boot ROM Version: 5.2.7f1

But all it keeps saying when i try to install is this message...

    mrcenzo,

"This product does not support the processor of your computer (PowerPC)." means you can't run it on a PPC Mac- Traktor Pro is not for PPC. You can't run it on your G5, I can't run it on my G4 powerbook either.

If you look at the requirments for Traktor Pro, it tells you that you need an Intel-based Mac to run it. You can't run it on your G5, end of story. It's not negotiable, nor is there a "fix", I'm afraid. Just run it on your laptop, and enjoy.
