when running pro i don't have found any problem

but something that's realy bothering me is the start-up and shutdown issue's with pro

i realy have 2 save first before shutting down because 50% of the time i try to close traktor it crashes :(

on vista i had to de-install everything (even delete all folders) to be able to run traktor again.

in xp it's mostly when moving from full to windowed and shutting down i have problems ...

    Welcome dude.

I would totally tell you to post your problems in their own thread so that people can take a look at it separately. There is an issues subforum where this would be perfect.

    Take it easy man.

my personal review is that this product launched too early.

i am a 'professional' DJ who makes his living on music, and i have never seen so many bugs in a launch product...especially one which is supposed to be MORE 'professional' than the last version.

i've filed support tickets for everything that is clearly a bug, and posted about all other issues that just seem to be victims of poor design.

while many of TSPro's new features address nearly every issue i had with TS, many of them are either poorly implemented or just plain broken.

i'm sure these will be fixed in updates (which will hopefully come VERY soon), but i am nonetheless extremely dissapointed.

After a slow and painful download (why don't they give us an official Bit Torrent link?), Traktor Pro Installed effortlessly. I don't like the fact that I have to put my gig laptop on the internet to authorize, but I didn't have problems so I can't complain.

I am one of those users who never really jumped ship to Traktor 3 and stuck with 2.6 all these years! What I love about Pro is that it seems to be a mashup of the best features from 2 & 3 plus a (very) few nifty extras.

Love the GUI and fonts (a BILLION times better than v3).
Love the 'Full Screen Track Browser Mode' button.
Love the improved beat grid detection and adjustment - woohoo!
    Love the effects.
    LOVE the dedicated filter.
Love the key lock algorithm (better than Ableton & CDJ's)
Love the 'Modifier' MIDI functions (for 2 deck controllers using 4 decks)
Love the sync capabilities (haven't gigged using it YET)
Love the fact that they left the good features that worked the way we want them to alone!

It's pretty obvious that NI have listened to the user base.

    Want the current playlist back!
Want cover art to be sucked down from discogs inside the program (buy the code from one of the little freeware guys).
Want the filter to be switchable between HP, LP & both.
Wish the playcounts were retained from v2.6.
Wish the track delete bug wasn't there :)
Wish that there was a large 'Drinks' button which set off an alarm behind the bar (maybe with zapping electrodes hooked up to the bar manager), informing that another round needs to come to the booth.

I have noticed this problem on XP also. It is consistently relating to switching back from fullscreen mode so I can click on the "X" to exit, but it crashes. I now always use Alt-F4 when exiting instead.

Too many Problems.Frezz waveform, playlist history, played history (check played songs even if you just hear it for a while to remember the song TS3 don't do that),when you play in audio through mode and change in TSP mode don't work the deck.....BUT the ergonomy and FX are perfect(all you need is a good midi controller such as jazzmutant.unicode works perfect than TS3 .TS3 has the some problems as i remember but after few updates was and it is the best dj software......P.S real time check history is very important in whole tree window not only in playlist because after 4-5 bottles you don't remember if you put the some song again..

I am having this problem too... not to mention the pops and crackles I am getting. It's weird when this happens and there really isn't a good explanation for it. Buggy !

I like most everything about TPS but the bpm calculation still sucks! It baffles me why these great engineers cant get this one thing right after 7 years working on it. When the very first version of Final Scratch came out from N2IT in 2002 a guy named Flat Feet Pete wrote us beta testers an App called Record Boxing that calculated the BPM with like 99% accuracy (60 to 190 bpm). I still use it today. I am really po'd i need to go in and adjust about 500 tracks that read double time or half time in my collection. And the old version of Traktor Scratch had a "Re-Read MP3 Tags" option that would let me overwrite TS entry. But this new version doesn't have it.

And the other thing is that every one of my files has the correct BPM stored in the BPM tag field but TSP doesn't take it into the database. Instead it calculates its own BPM even with the mp3 tag holding data. And is wrong about 35% of the time.

It looks good but I dont see anything about Pro at the moment that will make me open my wallet for it. I'm gonna stick with 3.4.1 and hope N.I. sort out a few things with it.

I've been setting up my midi for the past few days using Traktor (almost) Pro demo version. Working with the Xponent, Traktor Pro sure has made things easy with the new midi layout. Never had to use midi pages with the xponent since it has the a/b switch. a few things I miss is the deck mute, Cue/instant Play(CuP Cue only works on the release of the button I hate that), and Deck Tempo Bend Jog and also the Save button in the midi section, the export is fine its just alot of unchecking I gotta do to save my tsi midi file. I do notice sounds click when hitting the cue multiple times and cue and play are not as responsive as 3.4.1. The BPM detection and Auto Grid are not accurate not matter what i set the range too. ( I was day dreaming not having to set grids anymore).

I think Traktor PRO is much better than Traktor 3. I just have some problems with my midi controller VCI-100 that it seems doesn't work yet and also I have some problems with playlists and to browse my tracks using the search option.
I just had a look of the program, just open the demo 3 times so maybe I am wrong.
I wanna buy it ASAP but it seems is too early cause my Vestax VCI-100 controller doesn't work. I tried so many midi mapping but doesn't work properly so now I am waiting for a MIDI setup for this controller, if I can found it I can buy the program immediately.
    I also have 2 suggestions.
I think is a good idea to add 2 things in the browser.
The first one: now i can't see all the tunes inside a playlist folder. I mean, if I have a playlist folder called "house" with 3 playlists inside, one is tech house, one progressive house, and a electro house. Now I can see only the tracks when i click on the playlist, if i click on the folder "house" i can't see any track. In the iTunes browser if I do the same and I click on the "house" folder i can see all the tunes of the 3 different playlists together like a big playlist, this is very good if one night i want to play crossover and i can quickly jump to any different sub genres, I click on the "house" folder and I can have all the 3 playlist together.
The second things is I miss a filter, for example i use Mixed in Key to have the key of the tracks, if I have something like a filter i can write 3A and I can see all the tunes with 3A key inside the playlist, not in a search result page like now that force me to leave the playlist, I just need a filter that let me see only the 3A tunes inside the playlist i chosen, now I lose precious time during a live set when i search a thing cause the search option force me to leave the current playlist. If I want to find the tracks with 3A key in the tech house playlist and I click on search the results is all the 3A tracks of all my music, not only the tech house sub genres, that make me crazy!
I miss this 2 things a lot. Hope my english is good enough :)

HMMM. I still need to give this a proper rinse, but am yet to be entirely convinced. a few comments / problems....

*I'm having trouble with m playlists... It doesn't seem possible to add a tune to a playlist OR analyze it suitably (no right click menu) without loading it into a deck
*When switching between playlists and importing tracks, file lists can take a very long time to update when your importing a new track, and sometimes just when your navigating
*Still does that irritating thing where browser lists get re-sorted when you [try] drag a track to a playlist
*The 'BACK' button on the browser has gone and is much missed - surely this can fit next to the browser search box?
*I notice the CPU usage display doesn't display actual usage when tracks r being imported; activity monitor shows how hard the processors are working. Think this is just the same as earlier versions tho
*I find the cursor is pretty easy to lose on the screen, thats more of a system thing with macs

I've not yet been able to give enough time to it to decide, but i might stick with 3.4 for now. Some of the new FX are great and some other nice new additions, plus i think i detect better audio quality.....but not yet sure this is a step forward for how i'm using it.

    cues

It would be nice if i could see the names of the cues without selecting the drop down menu .. there is no option to create a hot key shortcut for this menu anyway ..

Then there is space btw. cues 1-4 and 5-8 .. so if the buttons were wider, i could see the name of the cue straight away..

Regarding Playlist, history and endless other 'little to some, big to others' changes:

Well, it beats me how any anyone/company can be so bold as to force people to change from a workflow they introduced, which many people personally adopted and go with a new one based on a new idea.

We all have our own ways of operating, surely updates should introduce, with choice, concepts claimed and hoped to be better, without assuming no-one else could possibly know better.

This has to apply to everything: eg. midi, playlists, colour, topology, quirks.

On the whole, personally, product updates have been largely good experiences...but with NI, Traktor upgrade/updates in all its guises but definitely most acutely with T pro... have been awful, worrying and timewasting experiences.

I don't see any links for download on my support updates.

btw... if i missed this info somewhere, sorry. Just been really busy annd pressed for time... Djing and getting divorced... fun!
