    Hello,

Can anyone from traktor tell me if they are going to support the spinning platter of the new denon 3700 player. This is a really nice player and a marriage with traktor would be much appreciated.

If not please be honest, so i will invest my money in an other dj software that is going to support it. Rumours are already there that virtual dj is going to support the spinning platter.;)

anyone who wants traktor to support the spinning platter please ad to this thread your wishes.

    Thanx, Thomas

NI is totally ignoring the spinning platter for the HS5500 so the S3700 for sure is going to be the same, these are great products but it seems that NI have a preference on controller companies they want to support.

You can count on two type of answers from NI for this thread:

1.- They will ignore it completely.
2.- They will give you absurd reasons why is not possible.

Absurd because everyone knows DENON has an open MIDI protocol, is more than willing to help NI and because other smaller companies took only days to implement the Spinning Platter.

Maybe if there was a greater demand for the spinning platter, support for it would come faster.

I see threads like this come and go and it always ends up turning into rants (myself included). But, if there was a lot more people (hundreds) giving a +1 to this feature request I think it would definitely climb up the rankings on the list of priorities.

NI's response to this reoccurring question is in one of the On the Record sessions. I think the answer was like number 3 from bcobra above but even more vague.

Although I'm not gonna actually break with tradition and actually use the forum search function. ;)

This is with Traktor using the 1200 midi map.
Is there more functionality that you can get out of this than what he is doing in Traktor? Can it receive a signal to tell the platter to spin and stop?

I thought this 14 bit high resolution midi malarkey facilitated TP to be able to work with spinning platters (amongst other new technologies which require 14 bit); if this was released in the 1.1 update then what are NI waiting for? Having used the Numark NS7 unit a while back when it was still in development, I was very impressed with the response and that was approx 6 months ago! If Serato can do it then so can NI (probably with their eyes closed and their hands tied behind their backs), COME ON NI, GET WITH IT!

By the way, I have tried the S3700's and am well impressed. Gonna get a pair of these instead of the Stanton SCS1D's, totally worth the extra money - my planned set-up in the very near future is going to be a pair of S3700's (I will happily use the timecode CD's until NI sorts the midi platter control) and the new Vestax VCM400 (hurry up Vestax!).......drool.

Bring on the Platter Support with Denon's spinning platter.

This is what Denon had to say:
"Our MIDI protocol is wide open and public for any vendor to support freely. The integration with Reflex has been the tightest so far (in my opinion). I recall it took them only a few days and a few tweaks to get it pretty solid."

Of course, Gizmolabs wanted full control of there Reflex software and split ways with PCDJ.

Denon says sales of this unit are doing very well and I can see why. What I gather form their forums is that they have a strong preference for Traktor.

I have a strong feeling that we won't see platter support until TSP 2.0 (or whatever it's gonna be called by then). It will definitely come though I just hope it won't be buggy.

Who's gonna be first to gobble up those early adopters?

I echo Thomas' earlier comments - spinning platter support of the new denon 3700's would be sweet! :) I've just picked up a pair of these babies and any such update to Traktor would be greatly appreciated...
